Super impressed by everything except our FL’s makeup - in certain frames, she looks ghostly D: I know they insist on everyone being very fair skinned but the blending in some scenes is terrible. Otherwise though, the storyline is actually quite fun and fast paced. The kissing is also 👌

I don’t think I have ever seen someone as dumb as The Heir.

Resolved quite neatly. I don’t love multiple seasons but I do think this is one example done well. 8/10

I can’t think of a drama I’ve struggled to finish more. The plot just became really frustrating to watch. The good: Liu Yuning.

I was really enjoying this but the last two episodes killed the momentum for me. 8.5/10

It was actually quite good but it dragged a bit. Really liked the ending though! Already at 6 and they’re still fairly young 😂😂😂 didn’t expect anything less from Yi Beom lol 🐯

I really enjoy the fact that they changed the destiny animal from the webtoon and k-drama from a cat to a turtle:

1) turtles live longer so we don’t have to worry about the cat already being 10+ years old by the time our main couple are together. I honestly worried about this in the webtoon and kdrama - there was even a chapter in the webtoon from the cat’s perspective. It was super cute but made me very attached and worried about their eventual departure from the world. The turtle is going to be their kids’ eventual pet…may even get to see their grandchildren! (I hope we do too)

2) I think a turtle is very reflective of both Misa and Wataru as well as their relationship. Slow, enduring, patient. At least that’s the vibe I get from turtles (and them).

*disclaimer (I did post about this before) - this is, no way, condoning the action of taking a wild animal as a pet. Turtles are not easy pets either and his enclosure, while aesthetic, is unfortunately not adequate. Please do research if thinking about getting a pet turtle and if committed, please try to see if there are any rescues or adoptions nearby.

It’s so funny watching Reina and Tomoya say it’s all Misa’s fault to manipulate them but they are missing the part where they decided to be terrible people (exploiting Misa, having an affair). She may have baited them but their awful personalities are what made them make their bad decisions!

I was so happy watching episode 7 to see them crash and burn but when things started going wrong again in episode 8, I clicked off so fast 🤣 I will wait till next week when I can see a happy ending; I don’t want to spend the next 7 days in suspense!

OOOF THE ENDING OF EPISODE 6 *CHEF’S KISS*

Ooh, the ending for ep 4 was super good! The vibe is so different from the Korean version, I’m really enjoying watching how everything is unfolding differently.

I really enjoyed the webtoon and the Korean version and I like this one as well. It’s less comedy vibe than the Korean version. Unfortunately her fashion upgrade isn’t really doing it for me but I hope it improves. Intrigued to see how this unfolds considering it’s only ten episodes

No one probably cares but disclaimer for Kamekichi, the turtle: please do not take wild turtles to keep as pets! He should have been taken to a zoo or a rescue instead.

Also, his enclosure looks aesthetic but is not suitable for turtles - they need deeper water to swim in, a much larger enclosure, that lighting is probably not providing sufficient UVB or heating for him to bask and they’re dumb enough to try to eat those decorative pebbles.

Turtles are typically not social pets and live a long life (30+ years) so if you are inspired to get one as a pet, please do your research and adopt if you can, rather than buy.

I say this as a dumb kid who got a turtle when I was 10 because they were cheap and popular pets. Donatello is now 20 and still going strong but the amount of poop and filter cleaning is ungodly.

Nope, not really. There’s a hint of a past romance between two characters but no main characters falling in love, no skinship or anything

Don’t know how many times I have rewatched this. Every story is so important (suicide, bullying (both school and online), sexual assault, veteran appreciation, body dysmorphia, the story of the comfort women, loss of a child) and the endings for the villains are very satisfying.

Also, I can never stop admiring all of Lee Soo Hyuk’s outfits in this. The gloves, the capes, all black - chef’s kiss. The man was made to be a grim reaper.

I love Koo Ryeon’s pink eyeshadow on her and its significance but I don’t think I’d ever be able to pull off that look.

Very much a nothing burger after all that build up, teasing the male doll, looking for the island etc. I’m just glad Gi Hun can be put to rest because if he knew the games were continuing in the US (where his daughter lives), he’d lose his mind all over again. I wish there was something meaningful about Baby 222’s name and how she is the only innocent survivor in this history of the Squid Games but alas, I did not get that. Also, if they want to do an American version of Squid Games, continuing to use the Korean games really don’t make sense - one of the fun parts about learning the games in season 1 was the contestants’ childhood games were made into these bloody weapons to turn them into murderers. I dunno what is considered American games but I know the ddakji is probably not it.

Cannot get over him as Jinu in Kpop Demon Hunters on Netflix. For his first voice acting role, he was incredible! I’ve been obsessed since the movie came out on 20/06. Love that he got to sing a tiny bit too at the beginning! His voice is divine.
Rewatching Business Proposal now because I miss him😭
