I love when people answer their own questions xD did you like it?
Yes, I recommend picking it back up but if you are not feeling it then that's okay we all have different tastes. Try another show on your watchlist or you can check mine and see if there is a show you would like. <3
I absolutely loved this show a lot. I initially thought It would be like a palette cleanser show (due to the MDL rating) but it turned out to be so much more. I will always have a soft spot for coming of age stories. I love that in this show we got to see the protagonists grow together. I love that thi went from being nervous about everything and just focused on his studies to being more confident, self assured and willing to spend time doing things outside of studying and tutoring. Noey went from being aimless and just not wanting to try to be a better version of himself to actually wanting to grow as a person. I cant say more without veering into spoiler territory.
Their bond was the cutest thing to watch as it goes from a kind of hostage situation to genuine friendship and then love.
Also I will never take MDL ratings at face value again
Let me start by saying I tend to enjoy slice of life the best when they make the most mundane storyline enjoyable…
More Story things I loved - Jim leaving that moonlight chicken. It seemed like a huge burden to him and he was just keeping the store open to keep beam alive in some way. - Jim and his sister investing in Liming's future so he doesn't have to go through the same struggle they did. - LiMing and Heart's adorable story
Let me start by saying I tend to enjoy slice of life the best when they make the most mundane storyline enjoyable to watch either due to relatability, nostalgia or a bit of escapism. I also love them mixed with romance, family life, work place, school or whatever is needed to make the audience feel close to the characters. I feel like this show really captured it well.
It lost me for one or two episodes in the middle where it almost veered towards a more melodramatic storyline in the middle but it found its way back. :D
Things I loved - Love that the fourth's onscreen mom from MSP also played his onscreen mom here. - The slice of life and fleshed out characters within the limited time they had - You gotta pay extra attention or you may miss something critical - natural chemistry between the ships - Unique storylines so it was fun to switch between each couple.
Things I didn't like - Shoddy time frame. I know months went by between Jim and wen meeting but even with paying extra attention I was so confused. - The slow episodes in the middle that genuinely made me fall asleep. Still not sure what was happening in those episodes. Just drama and more drama that took up time that should have been spent on something more interesting to add to the plot or perhaps world building.
I miss this show so much, the world building, the atmosphere, the fanfics based on the TV Show are amazing too. I have never missed fictional characters this much T_T Only edits and fanfics sustain me now :D
Probably when the international version comes out we will see. Also looks like romance is not the main focus so…
Some fans seem to have stumbled on a confession scene? All I read was mileapo wearing traditional attire and looking romantic with cameras rolling on a very famous bridge in thailand. So it could be a rumor or there is a scene. Take with a grain of salt.
the trailer defiantly made me excited it looks absolutely beautiful and i'm a massive sucker for historical asian…
Probably when the international version comes out we will see. Also looks like romance is not the main focus so if there is, it might be hinted. However open spoiler for a rumour I heard.
I am enjoying it so far.
