Thankfully, I stumbled upon this article yesterday and I gave this series a go.
So far, I am LOVING it. It's lighthearted yet it hits too close to home like Junko, I, (minus the harem and the gorgeous face,) thought studying is the surefire key to a sustainable and fulfilling future. Life proved me otherwise.
Also the dynamics and chemistry of the characters is admirable. None of them felt out of place or unnatural. I just ended up rooting for everybody at this point that I ended up a puddle of messy emotions.
Also Junko's back pain is relatable TT That'll be me in 5 years, tops.
Yes, it's gonna be partly a rant comment, so you've been warned.Why does HJE always have to play loud, clueless,…
Indeed. The first HJE drama I've seen is Secret, so I was really surprised when the majority of roles she has is the naive, clueless type. Because she definitely did a great job there.
As for the drama itself, nothing remarkable happened yet. I guess, just like what you said that this is the perfect drama for lazy days.
And heck yeah for Namgoong Min in comedy. We all miss the psycho, crazy, and derp expressions.
A good background doesn't make you a decent person. Look at Jin Ah's ex -boyfriend and the higher-ups on her workplace. Let's wait if the mother can redeem herself these upcoming episodes.
Filipino series should focus more on quality than the target demographic. When it's good, it'll show. It somehow saddens me because there are lots of great screenwriters out there.
Omg the so called "mother" of Jin Ah is sooo annoying and shallow! Jin Ah sure has a HUGE patience,if I was her…
I'm trying to be optimistic that there has to be a reason. I hope there is; That won't excuse her poor comprehension when it comes to her children's feelings, but at least it'll give us something to latch on a bit.
When they are eating together and the mother starts firing her mouth, I wanted to excuse myself and walk outside. And I am not even there. The rest of their family has the patience of a saint XD
Every time Jin Ah's mother talks, I can't help but be annoyed. Being concerned to your children's future is one thing, but to nag on their decisions just because you want to show-off to your friends is another. Honestly, she's kind of frustrating.
I honestly wouldn't recommend most Filipino series because of their long duration and crappy storylines. But, when it comes to movies, there are few exceptions. So, if you're planning on branching out, I suggest to watch the movies first.
Great list! I would love to see Cherry Boy That Girl and Bastard drama adaptation. My Boo will also make a good K-Drama adaptation, in my opinion and Duty After School too!
Hope there'll be a good-looking tsundere that will recommend you a good chiropractor (;

PS This is a very well-written analysis. Great job!
