Wow, what an amazing drama. I agree with everyone that it fully deserves a 10 as up until the end the travelling between past and present was was shown in a flawless and very clever way. I found some parts in the last two episodes to lack a little credibility (too many 'coincidences' so to speak) but this aspect doesn't diminish the awsomness of this drama.
The cast here was absolutely brilliant and so were the OST and the settings.
This is the first rating of 10 for me in 2016 and I hope that there will be more original and special dramas like this one in the coming months to look forward to.
I am watching DOTS and loving it so far. I also plan to watch Goodbye Mr. Black. Not so sure about the other two but I will keep an eye on reviews and opinions. :)
Hiii...lovely to know you are watching this too...I just watched the first episode and I enjoyed it (music included!), however I never trust stories where the romance starts so soon, we'll see how it develops. :)
Being a die hard fan of Coffee Prince I can say that this drama was good but I did not enjoy it as much. The chemistry between the two leads was indeed amazing with a lot of skinship going on but I found the story itself to be dragging a lot in the second half.
Personally I wasn't too interested in the side stories concerning the mob or the Nana romance and I found those parts to be rather boring.
However I found the ending quite clever and on the whole I enjoyed watching it considering it was the second Taiwanese drama for me. I will keep an eye out for the leads in future projects.
I have to say that this was quite a different saeguk from others. The only aspect that I found interesting was that it dealt with merchants and their working dinamics. Unfortunately the story itself made little sense as Bong Sam (Jang Hyuk) went through too many unrealistic abuses which any normal person would have had big problems in overcoming. The typical Korean exaggerated baddies and situations were at peak level in this drama which kept the story far too heavygoing.
The only reason I kept watching was for Jang Hyuk and his great acting skills. Unfortunately most conversations here were done by shouting to each other instead of talking normally which was tough on the viewers ears. For all of these reasons my rating can't be higher than 6.5.
This was a great melodrama. Yes it was heartbreaking for most of the time with the themes of Alzheimer's desease and police/prosecutor's corruption combined together however the writing was good and the acting superb. Of course many situations were not realistic as I will never believe that in real life such a high level of injustice can exist. In any case it was encouraging to see that good intentions always prevail in the end. The main leads were all excellent here and Nam Gung Min was so convincing as a villain that it will take me a while to be able to see him as anything different in his future projects. I recommend when watching this to be prepared to experience a very tormented but beautiful ride. :)
This is a truly beautiful drama. I was moved by the story of the lovely family and of their painful war time in China. Everything here was so realistic and touching and the acting was excellent. I consider it to be one of the best dramas I have seen so far. :)
This is the first Taiwanese drama I completed and I enjoyed it a lot. The first 5/6 episodes were a little hard to get through mostly because it was difficult to empathize with the female lead but afterwards the story took off and on the whole it was a pleasant ride with a realistic, enjoyable and easygoing plot.
I thought the cast was very good and I will keep an eye on the two main leads to see more of their projects.
I recommend this to those who enjoy involving romances.
gosh... I am on a mini break right now (Ep. 26) and I will carry on watching it as from tomorrow. I was hoping it would be more positive towards the end. :(
Thanks for this article. I only discovered him in Six Flying Dragons and I am finding his performance really excellent. I hope to see him in future projects soon. :)
I finally managed to watch this special and enjoyed it just as much as the original drama (my rating is lower only because it is a shorter version). Usually I don't enjoy specials as I never experience the same feelings of the original drama but it wasn't the case for this one. As I did for the drama I enjoyed the witty writing and the excellent acting here too.
I decided to watch this drama mostly because Hu Ge was the main lead and it was interesting seeing him in a relaxed and easy going role in comparison to the other more serious and demanding roles he had in other dramas. For what concerns the story itself I enjoyed the first half much more than the second half where it started dragging until the end. The aspect I enjoyed more was how the relationships were all shown realistically with all the ups and downs that happen in life. I really liked the father figure and the three male friends in this drama.
Personally I like to share opinions/tastes with other drama watchers not because they necessarily have to match with mine. Sometimes my tastes don't match with those of the majority of drama watchers but I still find it interesting to read what are the reasons for our differences of opinions as this helps me to have a better and unbiased perspective for a particular drama. As I always say, we are all different and this is great in its own way.
This was definitely the best out of the three Reply series for me. The aspect that I enjoyed most was the relationship between adults, their ties with their children and their friendship ties. That neighborhood really seemed like fun and a wonderful place to live in. The story here was so realistic, warm and touching so thumbs up to the writers, directors and cast who did an amazing job. I highly recommend it as it is certainly amongst the best dramas seen in 2015.
