Great drama, one of the best of 2024. The last two episodes were a little bit unrealistic but on the whole I thoroughly enjoyed it. ps. can someone do something about the troll below please? Is anyone of the admins around? Thanks, this is a site to discuss dramas and not politics.
I was so glad that Gong Yoo was back to a romance drama and in particular with Seo Hyun Jin who is one of my favourite actresses! On the whole it wasn't bad but definitely not as good as I was hoping/expecting it to be. I agree with most opinions which state that the plot was slow, however I found it intense and moving in some parts and the filming/photography and settings were truly amazing! I am rating it 7.5 and I hope I won't have to wait other 4 years to see Gong Yoo back in dramaland again!
This was an unusual historical K drama which on the whole I appreciated. It seems that some K dramas are starting to follow the western trend of including explicit scenes however this didn't spoil the drama for me which I thought was well written and fantastically acted by the whole cast. I would have liked the ending to be clearer and not to be so open. The costumes and settings were brilliant. It's a 9 for me, the highest rating given this year.
I enjoyed this drama which, for once, was purely romantic (with no other mixed genres like what lately happens). I appreciated the fact that it was a story between Japan and Korea with a lot of Japanese spoken as well as Korean which truly gave the feeling of this mixed love story with all the troubles that living in a different country can bring to two people who want to stay together. IMO the writers represented well the fact that most of their problems were caused by lack of communication and I was satisfied with the ending. Great photography both in Japan and Korea. My rating is 8.
Great legal drama which I enjoyed mainly because of the great cast and also because of the very contemporary plot which depicts reality in many parts of the world. I particularly appreciated how the friendship between the main leads was described.
Enjoyable slice of life drama which was also enlightening for what concerns the educational system in Korea. The ending was somehow rushed and different to what I expected.
Lovely saeguk which was fun and entertaining for me, I appreciated the contrast between the strict rules of the society and the rebellious attitudes of the main leads. Great performance by the female lead in particular who represented perfectly her role in this drama. My rating is 8.
This was overall a good saeguk with an intriguing plot. I really appreciated the acting of the child who played the Crown Prince, I thought he was absolutely incredible as well as the King himself. I would say overall they were the best actors in this drama. What I can't get over is how bad the kissing was here...there were barely two instances throughout the whole drama, and of course they were not fundamental for me as I was more interested in the plot itself, but they were so so terrible, I cringed no end! Is it possible that in Korea in 2024 they are still at the point where two grown adults can't show a proper kiss? If I overlook on this matter for me the drama deserves an 8.
You will never know how terrible it is to lose a loved one and have someone to blame for it.
I don't see what losing a loved one has to do with blaming someone innocent for that loss!! These two factors are not connected. I don't believe anyone was to blame for that accident. The sea was rough and it was both of their choice to dive in those conditions, so I don't see why the other party should take the blame for the other person's death. In fact the law didn't blame her for it either.
I enjoyed this drama mostly for the setting in Jeju and the great friendly personalities of everyone in the village. The part I enjoyed less, which is typical in Kdramas, was related to how the ML's father interfered in his son's life and his neighbour's lives as well. It was all a little exaggerated IMO as it doesn't make sense that an accident can be anyone's fault the blame kept on someone innocent for so long. Whereas I accepted the fact that fake news can threaten to ruin someone's career which is unfortunately terribly realistic in our societies. My overall rating is 8.
I got through this drama very slowly as plots concerning mental health are always disturbing for me (I don't know why TBH). However I finally completed it and I must give credit to the writers for facing head on such a delicate issue, even more so in Korea I would imagine. In any case this is a punch in the stomach kind of drama, so not for viewers who prefer more relaxing plots, which deserves a high mark for the good writing and good acting so I am rating it with a 9.
As for part 1 I found this drama so beautiful and poetic. Indeed it was really painful to see how much suffering the Korean people were put through because of the Chinese occupation and I appreciated how well the historical plot was mixed with the romance/friendship plot. The last episode was quite intense and full of surprises with unexpected twists (like the father/son twist). In any case, in my opinion, also part two deserves a 10. So very glad that we were treated with such a great two-part drama in the second half of the year.
Is there any skinship / steamy kiss scenes in this drama. There is such high octane business happening if its not…
I watched this a year ago, but if I'm not wrong there are no skinship scenes or kisses here (if anyone has any fresher memories by all means you can correct me).
I watched this drama as a filler whilst waiting for better dramas to come and it was ok but nothing different or original (apart from the fantasy aspect which wasn't particularly involving for me). Great job done by all the cast but this is not enough for my rating to be more than a 6.
Enjoyable drama about female boxing. I usually don't appreciate sport dramas too much but this one managed to keep me interested and focused because of the personal growth that the female lead (and also the male lead in a way) went through. I didn't have many expectations when I started watching it so I was pleasantly surprised and my rating is 8.5
I had been really missing a good historical drama for so long and I finally got one!! All I can say is that yes the story was interesting and involving but what made the difference in this drama was the acting. Absolutely top notch!! I hope the follow up will be just as exceptional. I am surprisingly giving my second 10 to a 2023 drama.
For each and every season this drama wins my heart!! Season 3 was just as beautiful as the previous two and I hope Season 4 will be out very soon. I am rating it with the first and only 10 (so far) for this year as far as dramas (including Chinese/Japanese ones) go.
