I am not particularly happy with this drama so I am certainly an outsider amongst the many viewers who enjoyed it. I think that what didn't click for me was the actual plot itself which I found too slow and dragging most of times.
I understand this was a slice of life type drama so I never expected great cliffhangers or exciting events but for me the whole story was too dull and repetitive with all of its bickering, push and pulls and the poor best friend/third wheel suffering in silence.
The only aspects I liked of this drama were the great photography/cinematography and the cast who performed particularly well (also the secondary characters).
My rating is of 6.5
On Unforgettable Love Jan 22, 2022
Like many viewers have written here, the star of this show is definitely the child actor who not only is as cute as ever but has also great acting skills! The story itself was totally full of typical clichès but is was light-hearted and pleasant overall with a cast that performed pretty well. Indeed the plot became a little frustrating and predictable towards the end so my rating is lower because of that. I would say that my 7.5 goes mostly towards the lovely little boy in this drama.

After many long months of rewatching older Cdramas as I couldn't find anything interesting, I finally came across this really good drama. The story and acting here were fabulous and I enjoyed every minute. As I always say when I come across wonderful historical C dramas, they are so well done that they give me the same feelings of when I am reading novels in books. I also appreciated the ending which set everything to its right place. This drama gets a well deserved 10 from me.
On Now, We Are Breaking Up Jan 10, 2022
Glad this drama ended as it was quite a drag for me. I have to say that the plot was nothing new as I would probably consider it more a slice of life type drama with a touch of makjang. There was very little (if none at all) chemistry between the leads who both had a 'stone faced' type of acting that made it all even worse. The only aspects that kept me going were the side stories which were definitely more interesting than the OTPs and also the Korean fashion industry setting which was original. I can't rate this drama with more than a 6.

Am I an anomaly? I'm on ep 10 and I enjoy the drama. LoL. I can confirm that the chemistry is not so good but…
I am actually enjoying the side stories more than the main one concerning the OTP. I agree with everyone else about it being slow overall and the OTP' s acting being too stiff. So I would say I am 50% enjoying this drama.

Finally a great traditional saeguk in 2021 which I really appreciated and I could rate with a 10. I particularly appreciated the feministic slant of the plot and how the writers enhanced so much the little choice that women who entered the palace had in that time period.
The acting here was absolutely at top quality and I truly believe that Lee Jun Ho's performance was at an Oscar Academy's reward level and therefore I am glad the drama won so many awards in Korea. Very highly recommended to saeguk lovers.

This was overall an interesting drama for me most of all because of the original mountain setting and the beautiful sceneries. I appreciated the fact that the plot concerned rangers and the cast did a great job with their characters.
The aspects I didn't appreciate were the too many time jumps that interrupted the flow of the story confusing the viewer about what was happening when and where.
I also would have totally avoided the ghost part which was an unnecessary addition to the story and would have concentrated the story solely on the rangers.
So not bad but not as good as it could have been, and my rating is 7.5

This was yet another typical Korean romcom. TBH I stuck with it only for the good acting and chemistry of the OTP and because I appreciated the setting of an art gallery and the beautiful outfits of the female lead. Otherwise the plot was really nothing special and totally packed with every clichè under the sun (including the elders bossing their chidren/nieces around). I can't rate it with more than a 6.5

Well, I need to pat myself on the back for pulling through until the end of this drama!! Not because it was bad, on the contrary it was so good that it kept me going through continuous violent scenes with too much blood everywhere.
Indeed the violence here made sense because of the story and the setting of the drama and most of all it showed how determined and strong the female lead had become (although to be honest I found the action scenes quite unrealistic). I appreciated the tenderness in the last episode which finally revealed a more "human" aspect of the FL. Overall it's a very good drama that I am rating with a 10 but which I doubt I would ever want to rewatch.

I wanted to watch a new action drama and this one appeared at the right time. I have to say that most of the time the "who was the culprit" part went right above my head but I enjoyed the action parts and the acting of all the cast.
These Korean action dramas are now becoming more and more similar to the Western/American ones except that I much prefer the Korean writing and acting as luckily it still maintains its uniqueness with subtle differences here and there (for me more attention is given to feelings in Kdramas for example).
In any case kudos to Nam Goong Min who really did an excellent job with a completely different character from those of his previous dramas.

They are both in the top 10 of Chinese Republican dramas, sorry I only made top 5. But here they are:https://kisskh.at/search?adv=titles&ty=68&co=2&ge=10&th=1293&so=top
Wow, thanks! I might watch some of these in the list which I didn't know about. ;)

Thanks for your article. Actually I have been on my second rewatch of two fantastic historical C dramas (their setting is during the Japanese government in China) which are The Disguiser and Sparrow, both rated with a 10. I highly recommend them and I wouldn't know where to place them in these lists.

I liked the last half as much as the first hald tbh. I don't think it dragged at all. I like the direction it…
You are obviously free to judge however you please, but I remain in my opinion that the change of vibe of the drama was way too abrupt to occurr at the very end of the story. The writers could have brought up the ML's past (which was a totally unfair situation anyway) much before or have the granny die in another moment and not all at once right at the very end of the drama.

I am with you. It was enjoyable as a light if trite drama, but when it veered into the 'tragedy" I frankly got…
This aspect of blaming unfairly the ML was something that really irked me and that unfortunately is a typical Kdrama clichè that occurs in many other dramas. I really think it's mean as not only the blamed usually suffer for the deaths but are doomed to feel guilty for something that was totally out of their control. For this reason I happily took down some marks from my final evaluation.
On Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Oct 18, 2021
I enjoyed the first half of this drama much more than the second half in which it started to drag a little and most of all became completely different in the last two episodes. I preferred the slice of life vibe of the village life rather than the makjang/tragedy vibe that we felt in the last two episodes.
I realize that sad things do happen in life but I felt that the events here were thrown in too much towards the end which radically changed the atmosphere of the show.
My rating therefore will be lower than I anticipated (a 7.5), although I did appreciate the good acting of all the cast and the great visuals/photography of the little adorable sea village.

I would definitely classify this drama as a light hearted rom-com so I started it without too many expectations but really just to spend some time watching something relaxing. So keeping this in mind I can't say that I was too disappointed on the whole as I got what I was looking for, i.e. laughter, warmth and a nice friendship/romance story.
However whilst watching it I kept on asking myself why the writers wasted such a good potential of cast and story by filling it up with so many clichès and also some really dumb forced comedy parts (I will never believe that what happened every day in that office can ever happen in real life!).
I will also mention the terrible last episode in which it felt like suddenly the writers woke up and decided to fill it with cliffhangers so that the viewers would be litterally left 'hanging' until the very last minute.
What a pity as it could have been much better. My rating is a 6.5
On You Are My Spring Aug 31, 2021
Luckily this doesn't happen often as is one of the few times in which I really felt I wasted 16 hours of my precious time! I saw very little meaning in this drama, yes I would assume the healing message was probably the main point of it all but honestly it all went right above my head. All I could see during these episodes were romantic relationships with a hint of a thriller thrown in here and there for a few minutes per episode which had nothing to do with the main plot!!
So why did I stick with it until the end? Because I really like both the actors who were the OTP here and I couldn't bare to let them go, but I struggled to make it through until the last episode.
In any case if it wasn't for them I would have rated this drama with a 4 which instead becomes a 5. Honestly the writers could have done much, much better.
On The Devil Judge Aug 29, 2021
The fact that this drama's plot concerned a dystopian world is the main reason why I appreciated it very much indeed. Every situation was exaggerated but in that kind of setting it was acceptable and it made sense.
Ji Sung was excellent here and he never lets us down with his performances and his choices of dramas. However I also appreciated most of the cast who managed to make their characters truly hateful or truly good.
This is what I generally consider 'a punch in the stomach' type of drama so don't choose if you want something relaxing to watch. On the whole it was original, well written and well acted so it's a 9 for me.
On The Rational Life Jul 22, 2021
I enjoyed this heartwarming drama which reminded me a lot of the Kdrama of 2014 called Witch's Romance (both the female leads also resemble each other a little bit).
Yes this was definitely a longer version, very pleasant to watch and much more oriented towards everyday real life and working issues.
There were a few character growths here which I found endearing as they didn't concern the main leads which were Su Yang's (the ML's best friend) and RuoXin's mom's.
Overall there was a great relaxed atmosphere, even when conflicts arised, which is something I particularly cherish in modern days C dramas. I am rating it with an 8.5.
