Title Second Love
If it got cut to 7 episodes I hope they tie up loose ends with that weird student-girl of Yui's - I always wonder…
Somehow I don't think this drama got cut but because started 3/4 weeks after all the other winter season dramas therefore it has to finish by next week to be on time with the ending of that season.

Thanks for this article...I've learnt a lot of new info about Japanese food thanks to you. :)

This drama was absolutely amazing!! The writing here was perfect and the acting just flawless especially by Ji Sung who was really involving in his seven personalities, he certainly deserves more than one Award for his perfomance here which will be unforgettable for me. I also appreciated the right mixture of comedy and melo and the way the episodes were so full of events with great OSTs as background. I believe this drama deserves all the enthusiasm and love that it is getting (I read here and there that some consider it to be 'overrated' which is a word that I don't understand as I think that all tastes and opinions should be respected) so if many many viewers enjoyed it, all the better!!

What an amazing drama. I had never seen such a tough portrait about greed for power and money before and I have…
We're all different. :)

Wow...thanks for writing this amazing article, and what a long list of projects that Cha Seung Won has starred in!! I have only seen three of them which are City Hall, The Greatest Love and You're all surrounded and although I admit that I appreciated his roles as he is a talented and handsome actor I was not totally bewitched by him. I think what put me off is his voice and his laughter which are not as deep as I would have expected with his height and his body structure. I will certainly be watching his next project Hwajeong as I am a dye hard saeguk lover and I will try watching some of the other projects you listed here...who knows that I might finally become a fan too!! ;)

I decided to watch this drama because I was inspired by the fact that it concerned a strong friendship between 4 women. Indeed I wasn't disappointed because this aspect of the drama was developed very well and it was also quite entertaining in some moments. On the other hand there were also many typical Korean family drama happenings which were similar to others seen before, however the unique trait of the lovely group of female leads made this drama different and a little more special. Of course the baddies' actions are always very exaggerated in these types of dramas which is something I could really do without but they come with the whole package so it's either take it or leave it for me. Overall I enjoyed the ride.

The basic idea of the plot of this drama was not too bad. It could have been carried out a little bit more effectively with more action and more believable parts concerning the North/South contrast however on the whole I enjoyed this drama. I agree that Triangle was a better drama for Jae Joong but in any case this was a pleasant watch. My favourite character here was Hye Rim, Seon Woo's mum, who was very brave.

As soon as I started watching this drama I knew there was something different about it and couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. Then I read that this was written by the same writer as in Coffee Prince and it somehow all made sense. The beauty of this drama was the warmth and the natural and spontaneous way in which feelings were shown. I also really liked the story to begin with as I found it extremely original, however as soon as the typical makjang begun with the story of the fire everything went back to the usual Kdramas clichès and it lost quite a bit of its appeal. In any case it was the first time for me to see Chung Jung Myung and I appreciated his role in this drama as his acting was very relaxed and warm.

Thanks for this article. I will try giving this drama a go. I was going to skip it because I was very fed up with Japanese cop shows but as the cast is great it seems worth watching.

Thanks for this article. I have to say that out of these actors I only know Kim Myung Min and Han Seok Kyu who are extremely good actors and whose dramas I have always really appreciated. I will keep an eye out for the other ones whom I have never seen before. ;)

I admit I was drawn to watch this drama by the enthusiastic reviews and high ratings and also because I had watched two previous dramas of the same writers i.e. Empire of Gold and Chaser. On the whole I wasn't disappointed as I could recognize the clever dialogues, the unexpected twists, the changing of sides and up to a certain point I was really enjoying the story. Then towards the end it became really excessively mean and heartless with the good guys always on the losing end no matter how hard they tried so I started asking myself why I was spending my time watching something that made me suffer so much...this is when I decided that my rating would go down. Yes the writing was good and the acting was excellent (I discovered new actors that I had never seen before) but I found some parts of the story not too logical or believable...and for the 100th time I asked myself how can people in dramas just stand still when they see a car racing towards them? In any case the brilliant and touching ending made my overall rating go back to a reasonable 8. This drama would have been perfect to my eyes with much less wickedness and more attention to very important details

Thanks for this article Purple. I will certainly try watching My Unfortunate Boyfriend and Unkind Women. None of the others sound like they could interest me but I will watch comments and ratings and see if there is any other good drama that I am missing. ;)

Gosh I just stopped by this page and I couldn't believe that there are already 6 pages of comments and it's only on Episode 3. I personally am really enjoying this drama and can't see what all the fuss is about. This is probably because I am focusing a lot more on the 'dancing' part and on the story concerning Kei's career rather than the intimate love relationship, which in any case I am finding believable. I agree that the female character seems much more immature than her supposed age but it's not the first time this happens in a Jdrama. In any case I will certainly carry on watching this as I am finding it original and interesting so far.

Thanks for this great article. I am enjoying this drama a lot too at the moment although it breaks my heart to see how slaves were treated at that time.

Great and very interesting article for me (being an ahjumma myself!!). I agree that these are all good actors. I did watch Warrior Baek Dong Soo and Road N. 1 but I have to admit that I didn't notice Choi Min Soo, I will have to keep an eye out for him in future dramas. ;)
On Kono yo no Hate Feb 17, 2015
This is what I would call 'a punch in the stomach' drama as the story here is the most tragic I have seen in over 200 dramas watched so far, however I am glad I watched it as it certainly is a classic of Jdramas. The tragedies here beat the most exaggerated Korean makjang by far. Nevertheless the romantic aspect of this story is so deep that luckily it overshadows all the darkness and pain felt whilst watching it. I would have wanted to rate it with a full 10 as I appreciated many aspects here like the brilliant acting by all the characters which had incredible depth (not only the main ones but everyone here was amazing) and the plot of the story which was extremely romantic. However the exaggerated negative situations that occur throughout the episodes (which I doubt can happen all at the same time in real life) made me lower it to a 9. It is definitely a drama that I wouldn't recommend for viewers who are already depressed but I assure the bravest ones who decide to watch it that they won't easily forget it.

Thanks for your review about this saeguk. For me what is keeping the story interesting is purely the character of Wang so. I am hoping the whole story will become more involving as it develops and I also hope that the 'crossdressing' issue will not be carried on for too long as it is something that has been repeated over and over in many dramas.
