Article K-Drama Food
woohoo...great article thanks so much!! I always wondered what all the food that we see in dramas was and here I could finally read a detailed description. I am not too fond of cabbage and spices but I am determined to try tasting some Korean dishes sooner or later. I am mostly attracted by their soups as they sound truly delicious.

@gottcha again we are on the same wavelength as I am totally on board with what you wrote here. ;)

I am glad that Shin Sung Rok won the villain award as I had voted him. I am happy enough with all the other awards as indeed YWCFS, IOTL and Empress Ki were good dramas which I enjoyed watching even if they were not my favourites of the whole of 2014.

Great movie and a wonderful comeback for Hyun Bin. Being a long time saeguk lover the story was nothing new to me however I appreciated the acting and the directing a lot.

Title Obsessed
This was not bad but I need to watch it again with understandable subtitles as the ones available at the moment…
Thanks for the link Shark, I watched the movie again and I finally understood the plot much better which makes a great difference. I have to say that I liked it much more this time around and I thought SSH's acting here was good. I hope he comes back with a good drama soon.

I finally finished watching this drama thanks to the link provided by DragonAlien (thanks again so much!!).I have to say that what I appreciated mostly in this drama were the side characters (in particular the parents and the dog!!) and some funny parts which made me laugh, however on the whole the story was a big disappointment as I was really expecting much more. With amazing actors such as Ayase Haruka, Tamaki Hiroshi and Fukushi Sota I was hoping for a more developed plot and for something much more unique and original. Instead I was left with a very ordinary and predictable story which left me wondering why I spent my time watching it. What a great, great pity. It's a 7 for me but only for the great cast.

I don't know why I had skipped watching this little gem of a drama when it was being aired and I am glad I caught up with it now. Yes it is definitely a typical melo but somehow the makjang here is not exaggerated and it fits very well in the story. What I liked most here was the acting...I found it absolutely top notch for everyone including the side characters. Being a romantic soul I particularly appreciated the romance side of this story which was very touching. This is worth a 10 for me.

I enjoyed reading your article and out of these there are quite a few dramas that I haven't seen. I totally agree with your opinion on Secret Door which was my favourite 2014 Kdrama and also with your opinions on Marriage Not Dating, A New Leaf and Alice no Toge. For what concerns Fated to Love you for me it was more a yay than a nay as I don't mind a little bit of makjang in romcoms as long as it makes sense and it is well fitted and in this story the mixture was perfect. I need to finish watching Wakamono Tachi as I got stuck at the first episodes. For me it wasn't a particularly good year neither for K dramas nor for J dramas and I hope there will be more exciting projects in 2015. ;-)

Thanks for this great article. Out of all of the dramas mentioned I have seen Bad Guys, It's OK That's Love and I am now watching Beyond the Clouds. I liked all three although they were not my favourites of the year (Secret Door and Liar Game). I do agree however that these dramas were original, different and certainly very well made and acted.

Writing an opinion about this drama is really difficult. I thought the story here was amazingly brave and original. It is practically impossible to watch this drama and not feel angry, anguished, distressed etc. but at the same time attracted to the screen and wanting to know what will happen next. Many of the characters here had very exaggerated traits which in my opinion were necessary to point out the absurdities of some attitudes in the Korean society (and those of other parts of the world too). I was not too happy with the ending even though it made sense after all the hardships that everyone went through...it would have been too drastic to make the drama end in one way or another. In any case this deserves a 10 because personally I hadn't felt such emotions whilst watching a drama for a long time.

Great article!! I am so glad you chose to write about Healer as I am absolutely loving this drama and I agree that it is wonderfully written and acted so far. Yet again we are having a brilliant drama across the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015 and I feel it will be a great success. :)

This is an interesting article which shows how tastes can differ greatly. Personally I enjoyed Man from the Stars a lot and was also pleased with Inspiring Generation despite the change of writers. I have just started watching Beyond the Clouds and the beginning seems good and dropped Golden Cross after the first few episodes. In any case in my very personal opinion this was not a very good year for K dramas and even worse for J dramas. :)
On Nobunaga Concerto Dec 27, 2014
I wasn't expecting this drama to be so good and for me it is the best Jdrama of 2014 together with Massan. The story is quite unusual as it started off as a mixture between historical and comedy and then became quite serious. I found the acting here to be excellent as there was a great cast. I am looking forward to the follow up to the story as there was no real ending in this drama.

This drama reminded me a lot of the Charles Dickens story called A Christmas Carol. Therefore I considered it as a beautiful tale and enjoyed it mostly because the cast was really good. In particular I appreciated Jang Na Ra, Shin Ha Kyun and Lee Joon's acting as they are real professionals who gave depth to their characters. All in all a pleasant and lighthearted watch perfect for this holiday time of the year.
Wiam Najjar Dec 22, 2014
I really appreciated this article as I am also enjoying this drama very much indeed. Like you said the father/son type plot does remind me a lot of Secret Door, although here the conflict seems more open and less psychological than it was for that drama. I like all the characters here however IMO Shin Sun Rok's fantastic twisted personality gives this story a unique trait.
Nana87 Dec 19, 2014
I am surprised that You Who Came from the Stars and Empress Ki are in this poll. I understand they are dramas shown in 2014 but IMO they have won so many recognitions already as they were also in some of the 2013 and first half of 2014 polls. It's quite obvious that YWFTS will win in many categories. I personally loved it of course however I wish other dramas which were just as good could have more chances of being voted. ;)

When I decided to watch this drama I had an idea of what type of drama I was about to watch however it surpassed my level of imagination. Yes the story was good and yes the acting was great which is why I rated it 8 but I must learn to keep well away from this genre of fiction which is definitely not for me. There is already enough violence and suffering in the real world without the need for me to succumb to it also when watching dramas.

Yes, I can see your point although somehow I can also see where Tae Yeon comes from in the sense that I can empathise with his suffering because he is madly in love therefore very gelous of Eun Cha and he seems to be doing things out of spite most of all. However I don't justify his immature behaviour at all especially as his choices harmed mostly his son Dan. I feel there will be some kind of redemption for Tae Yeon in the end, however I really hope there will be no forgiveness for the horrid and mean parents and wife.
