I was expecting a lot from this drama because of some really enthusiastic reviews I had read and I have to say that I personally didn't find it that great. Yes the chemistry between the main leads was good but the continuous staring with silent moments really got on my nerves towards the end. I also found the plot quite predictable in many ways and not much different from many other kdramas that I have watched so far. Infact I have to say that also the romance part didn't involve me particularly as the male lead's expression was always more or less the same. My favourite character was the second male lead Sae Yeon whose acting was also much more convincing. I am glad I watched it anyhow.

Honestly the best thing of this drama was the acting of Kang Ji Hwan which is never a let down. For what concerns the plot I personally found it quite unrealistic and in most instances excessively cruel. I couldn't feel any chemistry at all between the two main leads and all I can say is that Daniel Choi was the perfect villain. I personally preferred much more Incarnation of Money and I can't rate this more than 7.

I hadn't watched Jdramas for a long time and therefore I had to get used again to their very essential style. I never got particularly involved in second guessing who the different culprits were and therefore I just watched Asumi's path to revenge as it unfolded. The character whom I appreciated the most here was definitely Yusuke who almost always manged to keep calm and used his logic to unravel the different mysteries and who also was an invaluable help for Asumi. Overall it was an interesting watch as I wanted to see this new project of Ueno Juri but it didn't blow me away.

By reading all the comments on this drama it seems I might be one of the few who didn't find it too bad. Yes, the plot was nothing to write home about but maybe because I am such a romantic soul I appreciated the romantic side of it all. I really liked Dong Joo's family at the beginning (especially his mum) and the way he was always very true to himself and his feelings all throughout the drama. I also thought the theme of this drama was a very delicate one and I could understand that someone who had a transplant would have the same feelings that Soo Wan had especially after finding out what events were behind that transplant. Besides the good acting, I enjoyed the OST and the photography as I don't always need over the top excitement to enjoy a pleasant drama like this one.

What an AMAZING drama!! So far the best drama on classical music that I had seen was Nodame Cantabile, but this one IMO takes the level slightly higher because it focuses more on the lives and the relationships of many members of the orchestra. I absolutely loved the character played by Kim Myung Min who did a fantastic job in portraying the cold and detached conductor with a soft heart well hidden inside. I was also pleasantly surprised with Jang Geun Suk's performance as it was the best I have seen of him so far and I hope to see him in dramas such as this one again in the future. This drama really touched my heart in many ways: the music was excellent, the story was touching and the acting was superb. Another full 10 from me.

It took me many months to finish this drama (which is also the longest I have watched so far) however it always kept me interested and focused on the story. For me this is a real masterpiece and it has a really captivating plot. I really liked all the characters, the setting and the OST. My favourite character was Bidam because of his tormented nature, but also Yushin and Alcheon were amazing. I agree with many that said that Mishil was the best villain ever seen in a drama. I am very satisfied to have finally completed viewing it as I consider it as a milestone of Korean saeguks.

Usually I don't enjoy dramas in kitchen/restaurant settings because of the heavy bullying that goes on but I gave this one a try as some friends had recommended it. I have to say that the aspects that I enjoyed most were the settings, i.e. the wonderful costumes, the dishes that were prepared and the suited background music. As far as the story is concerned, I found it a little bit overdramatic at times and a little unrealistic in some parts, however it was well acted and it kept me interested during all the episodes. I was happy with the ending for most aspects although what I can never understand in Korean dramas is how attitudes and characters can change so easily. In any case it was a pleasant watch and I really would have liked to taste many of the dishes shown here.

Thanks for this great article. I first saw Kang Ji Hwan in Lie to Me and I have to say that I wasn't too impressed, not so much for his acting skills which are always great, but for the plot itself and the drama in general. However he totally blew me off in Incarnation of Money!! His role there was fantastic and I was totally conquered by him. I also enjoyed his role in Capital Scandal and I am now watching Big Man where he is doing a great job. I will keep in mind some of your suggestions on here, and I will probably start with Coffee House.

Thanks for this great Guide. I really enjoyed Ji Chang Wook's roles in Empress Ki and in Warrior Baek Dong Soo. I am looking forward to his future dramas.

This was a really beautiful drama with a strong meaningful story concentrated mostly on family ties. Although all the characters were fundamental and well acted I was mostly impressed with the main lead's role ( fantastically acted by Song Seung Hun) who was an amazing generous, loving and caring person who would always put others needs in front of his own. I have to say that he is the most selfless character that I have come across in my long experience of drama watching and this warmed my heart immensely. Recently I have come across a few masterpieces like this one which goes to show that Koreans have a real talent in writing and producing convincing and unforgettable melodramas.

I was quite disappointed with this drama as it had started out really well with a nice setting of classical music piano players. I was expecting something as exciting as Nodame Cantabile (mostly music wise). However I found the story really to be boring most of the time and I wasn't at all involved in the love affair either which was a little too cold and detached for my liking. The remainder of the plot was also unsettling with the horrible rich and patronizing family in the background. The filming was done mostly in dark settings with many quiet moments and this enhanced the slow pace of the story. My rating is 6 only because I enjoyed the great piano classical music even though I was yawning for most of the time so it could have been lower than this. What a waste of a plot which could have been developed much better.

The only mum that I know of this article is the one of Reply 1997 (who was also in Reply 1994) and I liked her very much!! She was funny and very affectionate. I am a mum myself and sometimes I have watched dramas with my kids and it is great fun. Happy mother's day to all the other mums!!

I really enjoyed reading this article and I agree that these issues don't make much sense...the one that irritates…
Thank goodness for that!! I am relieved it only seems to happen very commonly in dramas then. :)
