Checkmate is supposed to be based on Agatha Christie's novels based on Hercule Poirot. They even mentioned which ones they did and one Miss Marple. This was why I watched it.

I figured it out. Chu Ping rented her place to Yuan Wu's father because she didn't want to stay there anymore after the incident. That's why Chu Ping and Wu Jun needed to go in there to investigate how the person could have gotten in. They're now making it seem that it's her brother. I hope it's not him.
Based on this, I can agree that they're in a different building with same numbers. Like in the US, it's 301 bldg A, 301 bldg B, etc. This is why the police didn't interview Yuan Wu because he's not in the same building as Mo Mo.

So they are both shown in 301 then?

Is that so? I thought I saw him walking by as Mo Mo's dad drove by to take them to school. Isn't it a gated complex? But then again, the police didn't talk to him so maybe he isn't in the same building.

Was there a mistake? Doesn't Yu Wuan live in 301 across from En Huai's? If so, why was the family with the baby living there when the cops were talking about their theories in front of 302? The father said he saw Mo Mo's parents go upstairs bye didn't see Mo Mo come out.

I have a few questions that I hope some of you can answer.

Didn't they think his parents will think he was kidnapped if he's not there to be driven to school? He might not, but she should have. It would have been better if he went to school and then skip classes.
If she gave him her house key, how did she get in? Did she have a spare key?
Below is speculation
Could she have been molested before by the same guy who molested Chu Ping and that's why she also locks her bedroom door? Could her father be the molester?

Yuan Wu
Is his ultimate plan to put his father behind the tiles and putting him in the aquarium is just to prevent him from decomposing? Wouldn't he decompose behind the tiles anyway and smell?
Why did he bury Mo Mo's dog?

Chu Ping
Did she or didn't she report it to the police? If she did, is it a dead end? Is that why his brother said that testing privately is against regulations but they're doing it anyway?

So glad it's not RJL anymore. I don't really care for him. Saw him in TBW and it's ok.
I agree that if an actor or actress do not like kissing scenes, then they should not audition for romance dramas. How hard is that? I'm glad that Wu Lei's mom think he's now old enough to kiss. Yay for Love Like the Galaxy!

I just finished watching ep 9. Isn't he supposed to feel anything she feels? Sadness, fear, etc? How come he cries when she cries but when she was scared, he didn't look like he was? I know he's not scared of the dragon but since she was, he should still show the emotion she's feeling on his face. The inconsistencies...smh

The last time I watched this was 11 days ago. I'm on ep 10. After reading about the reviews, I will drop this show. I was actually thinking about it before, but I was pushing through because of Xu Kai. It obviously wasn't holding my interest much if I found other shows to watch for 11 days. The plot was getting to be so boring and repetitive. LYS was so annoying to me.

I believe that's paying homage to Hercule Poirot since all but one are based on Hercule Poirot stories. Does anyone know what his name means? He Nitang? I feel like there's a significance to it but just using the sound gives me drink pear soup. 🤣🤣🤣
