I have to ask. From what I understand, as mermaids, they are genderless until they fall in love and then they assume the gender opposite of the person they love. So do they look as men and women just to blend in with people? For example, Su Mo looked like a man before he fell in love with Bai Ying and took on the gender of a man. Same for Yan Xi. My question then is if a "woman mermaid" falls in love with a woman, will "she" then be reborn as a man and vice versa? That means they'll have to buy a whole new set of clothes! Seriously, though, someone please explain. Maybe the novel explained it?

I was going to post something like this. It's clear that Gao Liang is the best person ever to be born because he came back from not being able to walk to running, jumping and fighting GYY one on one and apparently would have won if JNZ didn't yell for him to stop. I'm so disappointed in this drama.

Actually, I've noticed since I started watching c dramas that they refer to themselves in the 3rd person in costume dramas. I watch with eng subs but if you listen, they say their name in instead of saying I. I can't recall if that's the same in modern dramas but I don't think so. It could be a form of respect to the elders or higher up like a king or emperor.

This series is getting me so angry with all these bad parents and bad sis in laws. I want to know if these siblings will have a happy ending. If not, I might as well give it up now. I'm on ep 19.

I'm sorry! I understand what you're feeling. I don't like to watch dramas with sad, bittersweet or cliffhanger endings. I watched it because of ZYC and it was new so I didn't know what the ending was going to be. Had I known, I might not have watched it. But then again, it's ZYC.

It's a bittersweet ending. Chu Xia went back to a different dimension where she was able to prevent all that's happened to Xiao Dong's dad. So in this new timeline, Xiao Dong never met her but she retained all her memories. So in the end, they met but he doesn't know her but kind of have a feeling that he does. I'm sure they'll probably eventually get together. But the Xiao Dong in the original timeline would have been suffering since she never came back.

Did I miss that? I don't remember them having a son. All I remember is that she's still sleeping and he was reading a story to a class.

He was also in Falling Into Your Smile as Ming God and I loved him there. I was kind of upset with him here. :)

I watched this for Zheng Ye Cheng because he is such a good actor. I liked it except for the ending. Yet another drama where ZYC doesn't get a happy ending. He "died" in Love of a Thousand Years and An Oriental Odyssey. He is alive on The Sleepless Princess and Stealth Walker but he's not really with his love. I don't know about Let's Shake It 1 because I can't find it anywhere where all the episodes are subbed in English. Is it a clause on his contract where he doesn't get a happy ending, only bittersweet??

I'm on ep 20 and the 1st ml is driving me crazy. Why does he always need to threaten her to make her do things? Yes, he wants to protect her and keep her with him but why humiliate her by keeping her in chains and not feeding her? I like 2ml better.
