Big sister is a saint. Really heart wrenching to take her out of the drama in that state. I was not ready. Watching the two male leads struggle makes me sad. Liang Si Shen is my only hope for true happiness for Wang Kai’s character! That man deserves it. He had good chemistry with the student as an assistant teacher. They should be within 5 years of each other if I got the math right. He was about 16 to 17 years old when he entered college. She looked about 12 or 13 years old when he was teaching her.
It’s for the impressionable fans of the classic Death Note series who shouldn’t be exposed to death scenes. Revenge scenes are sweet. It’s predictable as most high school dramas. But, it’s very cute and funny. You cheer and want to throw a backpack at the bad guys. 8.5/10

It’s fully subbed on Viki.com called Revenge Note 1. Episodes are about 30 minutes long. So, a total of 11 episodes complete season 1 on Viki. Episode 8 would not play for me for some reason. I watched it elsewhere.
This is a well written story with a great cast. I’m binge watching to catch up. I’m already too intertwined with the characters. It’s going to be hard to see this end. It’s understandable why this occupies the top 3 rating slots.
It’s almost half way through the drama and the plot has not developed much past episode 3. The game has developed with the 1 year time jump. But, there are a lot of plot holes to close and seems more questions in it than answers at this point like : where is the brother? Why can’t the dead guy stay dead in the game? How do you kill off PSH’s irritating friend who followed them from Spain? Why is the father of the dead guy so hateful? Who in the company can be trusted? Are there hallucinogens in his lens cleaner since he’s still seeing and fighting dead people after taking out the lens? It’s unusual for a Park Shin Hye drama not to be in the top 10. But, it’s understandable with this one. Hoping this gets better.
Great cast in a mediocre story with a feel good ending. Same leads in a different story unrelated to part 1. This one is not as good as the first. But, still watchable. Feels disjointed with 2-3 stories patched and layered together. 7.5/10
This is a musical that felt light weight because of the shallow plot. The wireframe sets and tonal color schemes were the best of this movie musical. Singing was good. Chow Yun Fat is good at everything and I only watched because of him and Rebecca Tang. They couldn’t save this. 7.5/10 Now, on Amazon Prime video.
@Hi5Me MSS (and Yan Se, NQ's teacher) knew that NQ's feelings for SS was a lot stronger than NQ ever realized: 1) NQ kept talking about SS during the entire 6 months he was with MSS. This was not shown as much in the drama as in the book. 2) The chicken soup note was so intense that the feelings NQ had for SS and her noodles were transferred into the note. Even the copy of the note MSS had was intense that even she felt it. She liked NQ before she met him because of that note. Alcohol releases inhibitions and drunk NQ wrote the note putting all his feelings into it.
Another hint of NQ's affection for SS was NQ's desire to kill off Prince Long Qing was because of the disrespect both he and Long Qing's servant showed SS at the banquet (where SS drank but did not get drunk,) The servant wanted NQ to gift SS to Long Qing. Long Qing looked down on commoners and SS was no exception. A maid to a low level cultivation person like NQ was just an ant and NQ brought that ant to a banquet held by the princess.
@Hi5Me, It depends on whose translation you read for ep. 46 where NQ and SS both agreed NQ would get married someday. NQ labeled his future wife as "sister-in-law." SS corrected him and labeled his future wife "madam" knowing that she was not the person he would marry and she did not see herself as his sister. Also, SS asked if MSS was good. NQ said MSS was" very good...just very good" based on Viki. He was cautious not to hurt SS' feelings. It may be the first time he realized SS did not see him as a brother, but, sees him as a man.
I started reading the book to get the characters and their backgrounds straight. I kept reading because it removed the anxiety of guessing the scenes before the translations come out. So, I feel you.
MSS can't be blamed too much for coming between SS and NQ. NQ probably hit full blown hormones while galavanting with MSS. NQ has been approached by the female (new) students at the Academy and at the Red Sleeve brothel, but, he never reciprocated their feelings. Even the Princess was initially fond of him which made her soldier friend jealous (I forgot his name) and made her have the long talks with SS during the journey from Wei City to Chang An. Later, the princess only wanted NQ as an ally as he got more powerful and not as a love interest. SS' hormones kicked in while NQ was gone the 6 months and when she saw NQ's affections for MSS.
I think we agree. He didn’t realize he had romantic feelings for SS until he had to live without her. But, he was around MSS for 6 months and she openly showed she “saw him as a man” which he reciprocated even with the beautiful (but aggressive) Ye Hong Yue watching. Plus, MSS’ entourage encouraged it in the book.
So, true! MSS’ entourage pushed her towards NQ and put the cloud 9 around his head! Like a lot of people he was enamoured until he realized he has a lot more to lose than gain in his fantasy!
This is one of the best short drama specials out there! I have watched it several times in the last three years. They packed an excellent story of romantic comedy into just 2 episodes on a TV budget! The tear filled belly laughs makes me wonder if the writer has a side job as a comedian! Chemistry is perfect. It’s a must watch. 10/10
This was my gateway drug to kdramas and I still love it. It’s below the style, increased technology and standards of today’s dramas. But, this one is special for me for the chemistry that translated into the post production real life romance! They were one of my favorite couples that didn’t last! 9/10
