On Where Stars Land Nov 30, 2018
The sci-fi parts were the best of the drama. Lee Je Hoon’s acting is always great. Plot was a sleeper and the ending was too underwhelming. 7.5/10

All the bad guys get caught. Good guys end up well, mostly.

I think something is wrong in the synopsis here its say she have a child but from the first two episodes they…
It’s too early to tell if she gave birth. Maybe, the child died leading to the divorce and we have not gotten to that part of the story?? I’m hoping she didn’t have a child with that shady ex-husband.

He’s doing well to be in two dramas airing at the same time. His acting is not bad at all. I want to see him in more dramas!

It’s a 9/10 for So Ji Sub and their social media networking which is better that most spy networks! Overall, 8/10 because of the cuteness in the drama.

So true! I would have been done if I saw Rio liquor like they had in every Chinese drama a few years ago!

I dropped it a few times because the middle dragged too much for only a 16 episode drama. But, l liked the actors and wanted to finish it to see justice for the good guys. The ending is better than the beginning even though it felt cramped, i.e., too many plot hole closures in a short period. Worth watching once. Prepare to fast forward during the middle.

Title Ever Night
Author Chen is from a “royal family” wrt to Chinese film/TV industry. His father, Chen Kaige directed one of my favorite movies (not just Chinese) of all time, Farewell My Concubine! It’s a classic winning best film awards worldwide.
Author Chen will get opportunities for TV and film projects and will do well. (I’ve seen him at 9 years old in the movie Sacrifice. He did well even back then.
He’s just barely starting out. But, he will be missed in the second season.
More info and Ever Night first impressions here (by AvenueX ) where she explains the high quality feel of this drama and why the big names showed up to be supporting cast members like this was a movie production:

This type of crazy nonsensical Asian melodrama is done best by Koreans! Everyone and every event is so extra! The good guys are so sweet there should be halos over them. The bad guys are so callous they can barely be called human and I love them the most! They are hilarious and I’m only up to episode 4! It’s worth giving it go and don’t take it too seriously.

She’s very good in Ever Night playing a 14 year old that quickly matures. Not bad for a 25 year old.

Feels like this is dragging and it’s only 16 episodes. The sequence of events, and the timing when releasing the clues are off. It leads to confusion and only 2 episodes remain. The characters seem as confused as the viewers even after the clues are laid out. The cast is great. The writing is just average.

The old man went along with the identity swap because he didn’t want to see one son dead at the hands of another…
No one knew the real Ki San got married while he was studying in the USA until he came back with his pregnant wife. The old man was not happy the woman had no status. The mother died in childbirth. The only way to explain the sudden infant appearing is for the grandfather to play like Yoo Jin was his son from some affair instead of his grandson.

Good movie with raw emotions. The lazy last few minutes of the ending is a mystery in itself. It dragged down the movie. 8/10
On My Wife Is a Gangster 3 Nov 13, 2018
Definitely worth watch if you like gangster movies with more comedy than violence. This is one of the rare Korean dramas where the tall model looking guy is not the lead. He wasn’t missed! The movie is very entertaining! The highlights are the comedy brought out by the Korean translator and soft hearted Korean gangsters, the outfits and the Billy Ray Cyrus-like (business in the front, party in the back) hairstyle of the lead character, Gi Chul! Just a touch of romance comes late at the exit. The gangster fights and car chases in both Korea and Hong Kong are as expected. Lead actress Shu Qi’s acting experience shines throughout. She was fluid in her fight scenes even though the tougher fights had stunt doubles, as expected. Ignore the emphasis on the missing mother as laid out in the description. That arc is insignificant almost non-existence.

Dropped after 5 episodes. It’s so boring that I started to not care how the relationship develops.

Title Room No. 9 Spoiler
I have binge watched the first ten episodes and I find the series enjoyable but its a bit confusing, it's like…
The old man went along with the identity swap because he didn’t want to see one son dead at the hands of another son be all over the news. He didn’t want to see the last son in prison with no one to raise the grandson, Yoo Jin, the one he always wanted to take over the company. Plus, the company’s reputation would be trash. His empire would crumble. I’m not sure if the old man had a hand in killing off or firing all the people who knew the difference between the two sons. He under estimated his killer son since Chu confined the old man to a hospital where he could only see his grandson on special visits and no other visitors.
