Waiting patiently for this to air because the cast members are many of my favorites. Only the scripting, fillers, flashbacks and editing can ruin this. The chemistry between the lead couple is already on lock!
This is definitely a melodrama with up and down moments as the couple goes through the period where they are struggling to make it. They demonstrate the problems most working couples have: lack of communications and balancing dreams, work and relationships. The acting, sets, and scenery are very good. It brings one to tears through several scenes. The downside was the latter half of the drama. It felt flat at the end when time and experience should have eased some of the guilt and prioritize the things and people each of them valued. This would have helped them understand the things that truly make them happy. Some things you have to settle in your head to find peace and happiness. 8/10

Good luck. I dropped Dramafever years ago..unresponsive to paying members, didn't/couldn't get the licenses for popular dramas, deleted comments that were negative against Dramafever. Dropped Viki this year for ever increasing membership fees to watch the basic drama, late subs compared to other sites, takes 3-4 months to get a response from customer service and decrease in content quality. I am willing to pay for a good value. Not willing to through my money into a black hole.
It took me awhile to finish because there were very little subs when I started this months ago. It was worth the wait. Great, great chemistry between the lead couple is the reason I kept watching. The happy ending is the reason to finish since they are so rare in fantasy, historical-like Chinese dramas. (A moment of silence for Scarlet Heart). The role swapping personalities were well played out by both Sandra Ma who embodied Wonder Woman with a head slicing instead of gold lasso and Peter Cheng the epitome of beauty, class, style and fashion! The humor is worth watching. The empty filler episodes can be skipped. The drama is worth watching to the end see the twists. 8.5/10
So beautiful! It only took 30 minutes to make a meaningful short film that makes you appreciate many things one takes for granted until they are gone. 10/10

I loved it especially since it was based on a true story. Takeru was the stand out in this movie. The story was great. The real Mai must have saved a nation in her previous life because she married a patient and loving man. 9.5/10

I like the acting, costumes, sets and found the script interesting to watch until ep. 70 when it seems to be going over a cliff towards some typical tragic ending as usual. It is no longer worth watching. The Empress of China drama is loosely based on the same historical couple. The empress had more power in that drama.

The headmaster did not deliberately cause the mother and son to be exposed. He had to scramble at the last minute. The son gambled away the Da Cheng Bloody Pagoda command emblem exposing his family ties to them. Then, the wicked prince tried to implicate Ning Yi to Bloody Pagoda. Headmaster tried to for a win-win situation. If the mother would bow down to the king she could live. She refused. She had her own plans with the delayed poison planning to take her own life and declare her children knew nothing about their statuses so they could live. It looked like to many uncoordinated short notice plans. Just a mess. The rest of the chapters seem to degrade after this. I'm up to ep. 60.
