Ofc after the show, netizens can easily find out their real names lol but while filming, the participants call each other by their assigned aliases until the end of the show

Yes. It's because they never use their real names on the show - they're given generic names such as Jane, John, Bob, etc. Same names are (more or less) used every season.

At the end of each season, we see them confess their feelings at the end of the show. They'll walk over, and whisper "My real name is ____." Until then, they all go by fake names.

This is also why we see them roll out their names in big panels at the beginning of each season. They're assigned a name. From their reactions, it's like they didn't know they would get that particular name until they arrive on set.

Certain names have a particular characteristic across all seasons. For example: Ok-Soon name is often given to the "most beautiful" girl that comes out onto the show. <- Idk how much truth is there to it. But there's been a meeting of "Ok-Soons" across seasons, and commenters on korean forums talk about how Ok soons often look like celebs/idols lol

") Translation = During filming, real names are not revealed. Instead, aliases are given. Male names: Y oung Soo, Young Ho, Young Sik, Young Chul, etc. Female names: Soon Ja, Young Ja, Jung Sook, Young Sook, etc. Due to the similar naming scheme, viewers response have often been that of confusion; thus, starting from season 6, Jung Soo, Jung Sik, Jung Soon, Jung Ja were removed & Gwang Soo, Sang Chul, Ok Soon, Hyun Sook names were added.

I knew as soon America got a taste of Korea with train to Busa , parasites etc, they would want a slice of that…
That sex doll (????) scene was so disturbing. It didn't aid the plot at all, other than to show how "Type C" had no human rights whatsoever. But it wasn't necessary.. that much was already clear...

Disappointing movie. I don't know if Netflix has anything to do with the movie's low quality... but it's disappointing.

And when fl learns that the women she saw with her father is ml's mother then what?? I believe her parents are…
ML's mother doesn't seem to have the character trait of cheating. I don't think ML's mother and FL's parents know each other at all.

Maybe FL's parents are trying to protect FL from knowing some truth about her brother's death. I suspect that FL may blame herself for her brother's death or something. Maybe she had something to do with his death? There's no other reason that comes to mind where they'd try to hold a secret, even if it meant that FL would blame her father for her brother's death... if not for protecting her from hating herself, y'know? Just my guess though.

Absolutely 2nd one. You can play with your own feelings but not with others. What FL did is Morally unforgivable.
Have you heard of that one phenomenon where if we make mistakes or poor decisions, we always have reasons (excuses) and rationale for them. But when someone else does the same thing, we tend to see it as a character flaw and more negatively?

"The fundamental attribution error ("FAE") refers to an individual's tendency to attribute another's actions to their character or personality, while attributing their behavior to external situational factors outside of their control. In other words, you tend to cut yourself a break while holding others 100 percent accountable for their actions." (Source:online.hbs.edu)

This is how:

1) It's easier for viewers to excuse her actions cause the story shows FL & ML's POV (their true love, missteps, external factors like SFL & SML, life events that shows why they choose to do things or not).

2) If we look at it objectively --and without the FAE-- it's just 2 people who are cheating on their partners!

3) Whether SML is also cheating is besides the point. If he is also cheating, then he is also doing wrong. It doesn't take away from FL's wrong, or negate it in any way.

They are always been cheating, emotionally cheating, to begin with. Only for them to taking this into physical…
They deserve each other, truly!

(1) Both couples are in a exclusive relationship - meaning: it isn't an open relationship. This makes it not okay to see other people at the same time. But both FL & ML are fine with breaking this trust with their partners.

(2) Cheating is cheating, even if the cheater feels it is "true love." Have you ever heard of a cheater who didn't feel they were "in love" with their mistress or other man? In the name of "love," cheaters will excuse their own actions.
+ There has been countless examples of cheaters who regret their actions, but later serially cheat again. I wonder if 'love' is their reason every time.
+ If they are in love, always had been in love, fell in love, whatever, they could always end the relationship (or marriage, engagement) before pursuing it. Simply having a "soft, nice, people-pleasing (unable to say no)" personality isn't a valid excuse for being unable to initiate a breakup, much less cheating!

Is the drama still realistic? Yes, because we're seeing the POV of cheaters, how they justify their own actions, and make poor decisions one after another. Very human of them.

Hopefully they come clean and breakup with their partners in the next episode or two.

I just want to say: for all the people defending FL & ML's cheating, I hope they never cheat on their partners cause they "found their true love," and that their partners never do that to them, too. What a horrible thing to do & heartbreaking thing to experience :(

I also suspected SML cheated with the girl he tutored, but not entirely sure. He did tell her he was seeing someone.

It's the land of cheaters!!!!! CHEATERS. If ML was convinced after the uniform incident about the amount of care…
They deserve each other! I hope they end up together – a cheater with a cheater. They're in love anyway so they'll be happy. (Until who knows, they find themselves in love with someone else in the future)

SFL can find someone else. Hopefully after growing up and putting down her obsessive (possessive) nature.

SML (if he isn't cheating with the girl he tutored) can live with his friend, retake exam, and move forward.

At this point, I'm grabbing the popcorn to watch it all go up in flames lol

I love how FL utilized that clothing "investment" tho. I was cackling.
Did she sell them? I hope she sold them to get money for SML (his mom's hospital bills). I really hope she sold them. Afterall, it was a gift! She doesnt need to wear them hehehehehehe

I kinda skipped through the episodes (ffwd 10sec at a time) and missed where she got the money

Why do they keep doing this?

Same thing in "THIRTY NINE" Kdrama where they are trying to justify cheating & affairs in the 'name of true love.'

They make viewers empathize with the characters. What happens? Some people feel OK with it cause they essentially are in the character's shoes. How do people view their own missteps and flaws? They tend to excuse their actions due to reasons. (like "love" here). Whereas if other people do the same thing, they would attribute it to a character or personality flaw.

Well played, writers.

What if her father never cheated. There's something more to be revealed. Her parents hiding it!
I wonder if he died "because of" FL? Why else would they keep it all secret?

One word I would use to describe episode 9 - OPTIMISTIC.
The first few minutes vs last few minutes... it's very opposite lol
