You have very valid points and I do agree. To a degree, I feel there's a decent mix of both portrayals of FLs in dramas. The name of the drama escapes me but there was one where the young females characters were mostly wearing pantsuits and in the comment section on MDL the folks were complaining about why they were trying to age the ladies. It's a tough balancing act I believe.
I think of variety shows for instance and the female actresses who make cameos on those shows (Hello, Saturday comes to mind) seem to dress very youthful and many of them are mid 20's to mid 30's; most of them seemingly play a lot into their feminism with their mannerisms. Not saying if any of it is right or wrong but just personal observation. I've had my share of drama watching where the actress is playing a character and it just drives me bonkers because their actions seems like a kid when the character is in their 20s too. I mostly just imagine that the drama creating folks want to exaggerate some stuff for entertainment purposes in some dramas while creating other dramas for more mature audiences. Then, in the comment section of those dramas there will be folks complaining about how boring the drama is and how the storyline isn't really moving along.
I sometimes dig dramas like this one but take it all in with a grain of salt because it deviates from my real world life lol. Take Fake It Till You Make It for example - totally different vibe. Another lawyer drama but along a totally different vein and draws a different audience, perhaps one who perfers women showing our strong and independent side. The character is essentially a fresh lawyer who has only had an internship as a real job. I think most folks who are straight out of school have little funds to elevate their wardrobe and completely overhaul their belongings. Most of them still use what they used in college until they have extra money. It's also very common for grown ups in Asian countries to have cutesy things. Seeing grown men with fuzzy cartoon seat belt covers or plush keychains etc isn't that out of the ordinary. Most of the OLs in dramas will have cutesy things at their desk in the workplace. For those reasons perhaps some of the things you called out didn't come across as uncomfortable for me.

I love the scene where he's talking while going over the bridge flanked by security lol. He's dramatic just like his mom.

Respect your opinion but IMO she's not really stupid. She's not written to be some genius, evidenced by her barely passing her bar exam. However, FML has shown herself to be resourceful and creative. Her character is a newbie in the law world, she's younger and inexperienced. It would be even less believable if she was taking the divorce world by storm. She needs obstacles to grow and in the drama for her relationship with ML to grow.

Agree. There's no boundaries and he doesn't even think twice when his coworker, sister, friend, and XNs friend brings it to his attention. He's not dummy but he's acting as though he's oblivious of his ex's actions and what she's trying to accomplish through using her son. Sigh

Most don't blackmail unless they are trying to get something they really want, regardless of what it is and why they want it. Female partner has made it clear he does not make her cup runneth over. She can't be satisfied by him and her greatest love is work. She's just looking for a companion and even with that she doesn't seem to need one.
PYS is just suitable but seems to me she is aware there are lots of people who would want to be the next Pya and partner with her. In that case, it just doesn't make sense to me that she would act that way. Her position allows her to use it as a bargaining tool for a relationship. But what she's getting in her mind is merely just blah vanilla then her actions don't justify the reasoning imo 😀

So up till 14 I didn't love her character but I didn't dislike her either. I loved her ability to speak about what she wanted and take no bs attitude. In some respects, it was a breath of fresh air compared to our FL when dealing with our ML boyfriends indecisive charades. However, now I find myself conflicted by her. I always felt her character separated out business and relationship but liked ML BF bc he was suitable for what she wanted - cool.
She has the view of a marriage a 55 year old chaebol momma would about her kid's business alliance marriages- ok, I can accept that. It would suck for her spouse but if it was what he expected and accepted- it's no big shakes.

Now, I'm confused about her character. It's as if she's mixing relationships and business by using PYA's position in their company as blackmail - for a relationship with him. Huh? Did I understand her correctly that if he doesn't openly choose her she will punt him to a lower shareholder and bring in another investing partner as his boss? So now instead of cool business chick she's now a threatening unfair chick. PYA isn't that great for her to stoop to that level. So if her character if as confident as she's portrayed so far, she would never say those lines IMO. Most importantly her character doesn't really like him! I'm a bit lost on this character at this point or better yet I feel like the character development at the moment doesn't make sense to me.

PYA- like him or not, I can't forsee any guy being willing to accept that type of marriage relationship. Especially not someone who might want some sliver or love and happiness in their mostly business alliance relationship.

Let's talk about PYA' business partner for minute. Up to ep 14....

I'm totally into this drama and am loving all the characters. I don't often watch a drama where I feel everyone is casted well for their roles but I most certainly
do here. The only thing regarding the ML I need to overcome is that I find myself waiting for a psycho part of his character to come out lol.
Not sure if it's the facial expressions or if I saw him in another role where the actor was twisted. I also didn't watch the other version of this drama to know if his character is supposed to be this way.
I love him for the FL but not sure why i overthink his little facial expressions like he's some kind of killer lol.

Okay I made it to the end but I'm missing the episode where SY meets ZSY really for the first time? I'm looking for the original award ceremony where he sees her. The one I saw he snuck out for a phone call just as she went onstage and I thought there was more to the scene. Anyone...anyone know what episode the full first time he laid eyes on her was?

Her makeup seems more bold compared to her peers. Some scenes she had almost red eyeshadow - Eeks

Loving this drama and the cast is amazing. Xue Shu is the only character who I think is miscasted. Perhaps the make up is not doing her justice but she gives off the vibes/appearance that she's significantly older than all the other girls and I'm struggling to not get the aunty role in my head when she pops on the screen.
