yes the plot is similar mostly because of fl's husband. you can definitely like one and the other.

I have to admit I couldn’t imagine a better ending for this drama. It’s sudden, dark and upsetting, yet it remains open, which is why it still feels hopeful despite everything. Their fate is doomed without a doubt, but they might not die there. Two things already prove this: the introduction (shows the last day on Earth, 22nd February 2026, and then a bit after the opening what seems to be Se Kyung on that very same day; I mean, that's literally her holding her bike with the same outfit and helmet you see her wear before on the 5th August 2025 shot) and the trailer (shows the ending scene and then the very same scene that appears to be Se Kyung). Plus: the parallel of Se Kyung's close-up shots. And while I'm on it, the introduction is also good to rewatch because it shows you that Hae Chan didn't actually leave with her brother (they clearly state that the flashforward is from the final day, she sees someone commit suicide and then the OST starts with the opening).

No one knows if she ended up in greater danger afterwards (that was the leader at the end, so unless there were more people to take care of who had guns... from what we see, the worst is if she took a hit), but he chose to step into the darkness with her and protect her. It feels very symbolic. The scene is actually easy to understand: she told him everything and he decided to follow her. She wouldn’t have allowed him or anyone else to go with her, so he prepared the bottles in secret. Personally, I like to believe that they were both fine.

It perfectly conveys the despair of the situation: he can’t stop her, and they are both nearing death. Or is it really just despair? It’s tragic, but also more meaningful than simply dying. It conveys the original title well. This moment reflects the core of her story—what mattered most to her after the tragedy and injustice she witnessed. The drama begins in a certain way, develops and ends in a way that feels consistent with that, making it especially fitting. She needed to do this before she died. Everything about this drama shows its worldview—bits and pieces of what would happen, along with the characters’ stories. The mystery/espionage plot around the sect was very gripping too.

I also remember a conversation between them that seemed to foreshadow this exact moment. The story isn’t about showing the asteroid’s impact—that would be too generic. (Besides, it already did with the dinosaurs at the start, lol. And the dreamy scene at the end was a metaphor for the asteroid.) I also loved how the OST comes in right after, paired with that final shot of the asteroid and the sound from the gun(s). Despite the previous tragic tone, it became uplifting.

Meanwhile: In Ah chose to explore the outside of the city after her reconciliation with her mother. The ending was beautiful for everyone, and I would like to mention Hyun Jae who made me cry when he smiled to the girl he likes. I liked him a lot and I was really angry about the guy who did him dirty. He was also great in Hierarchy, he's a very promising actor. In the main cast, my biggest surprise was the priest. I didn't know this actor before, but he was incredible.

About the scenes removed, I figured they must have removed the part where he escapes.

I believe it will be better too! But personally, Season 1 was good.
