this movie is simply about two young sisters trying to survive, exploring their bond, difficult family situation and the destabilizing situations they encounter until a finale that shows the journey is the destination. it's a decent neo noir film (with cool women), in my opinion.

I genuinely like this movie a lot, it deserves its awards. Cold, grounded, atypical characters, great BGM. It's perfect for a calm evening. I honestly didn't think I'd revisit it but here I am rewatching a few months later. JCW doesn't have much screen time but it might be my favorite role of his, I love the "cool villain" who ends up being rather pathetic. The ending already lingered on me before though, and funny enough I remember this more than action-packed movies. It's true to the noir genre.
