Not my cup of tea - Leshan's never-ending violence. Just whyyy. Too much beating is unnecessary - when DY unintentionally beat SH. Their arc is heartbreaking. Yes there's a reason for everything but I am still rooting for DY sworn brother lols - when CA was beaten in the court by HZ. Poor CA haha - DY death penalty because father over mother. Goodness lol. Even if fathers outweigh mothers in that era, at least reduce the sentence to consider filial piety to his mum. Just my rumblings. Nvm.
Loved - first meeting of Kangning and Chai An. Give me butterflies everytime I see it - first time Du Yanxi met Shouhua. He was captivated lols - second wedding of 4th couple. Honestly, one of the best in cdrama for me. It was so heartfelt and pure. - first meeting of She Cong and Qiongnu - reunion of She Cong with the family. So heartwarming. And why is he so cute haha.
Just finished and I'm missing this already. At first, I was expecting this drama to be fluffy and lighthearted but the writer and editing sometimes frustrate me. After so many unexpected schemes lols, I learned to get over my frustration and trust the process hahah. It is such a beautiful drama with great actors and plot. Soundtracks are captivating. I'll list down the top scenes that I loved and scenes that let's just say, not my cup of tea lols.

This got me confused as well. But my assumption is the third rank scholar is the ranking for those who tops the provincial exam. Now maybe when he tops a higher level exam (eg. imperial exam?), then that may be a higher ranking scholar. Just like how officals are also ranked (eg. Prime minister is first rank while a provincial judge could be six rank). Anyone pls correct me if im wrong. 😅
It feels like they are taking their sweet time to actually pair up the couples. A lot of them haven't interacted yet. But the first ML quickly falls in love. Early on there's already a proposal 😊 I had butterflies with his jealousy escapades in latest episodes though haha.
After eps 7 and 8, it reminded me that Chai An's actions on earlier episodes where he competes in getting all customers away from Li's tea shop is all because of his jealousy. He knew from the start madam Li is looking for in laws (scholar customers) haha.
I would be bold to say this series is right there with my top 10 or even top 5 cdramas. 😭 in no particular order, princess weiyoung, joy of life, untamed, eternal love TMOPB, and Guardians of the Dafeng!! Of course they all have different charms.
I just hope s2 will come sooner than later. The way the story/production tackled INJUSTICE immensely pulled my heartsrings. This is so beautifully done and the comedy is top-notch. The first episode is one of the most humorous (slapstick style lol) I have seen in cdramas. Didn't imagine I'll have plenty of tears in the later eps tho 🥲 Waiting game for S2...
