You guysssss. Two days ago, I watched Episodes 1-16 all in one sitting (finished next day at 1pm). I was so sleep deprived but I couldn't pull myself away from the TV. I'm so mad that not all 40 eps are out!! Although, it probably is a good thing since I might've watched all 40 eps at once hahahhaha.

This drama is riveting. I absolutely love red flag guys in fiction world hehehe, so their relationship is so delicious to me!!! I read a lot of mafia romances and dark romances though, and this drama was like a visual rep of them. I can understand why some folks won't like this drama, especially if they don't like morally grey MLs, but I live for them hehe. Not in real life, obviously. But in fiction world, they are chef's kiss!

I'm a romance fan too, and I really enjoy this drama. Only thing is, it is very much a slowburn with a focus on family, friendship and political aspects. The romance is very G rated. You're not going to be getting passionate romance like Love In The Clouds, so just make sure you start the drama with the right expectations.

It shows the viewers that while certain values and beliefs are worthy of being passed down from the older generation, it's also good for the younger generation to think independently to determine themselves which values and beliefs should be adopted, and which ones should be changed for the betterment of the future.

I think he's appearing as a selfish lover because he is insecure about being able to win Lanxiang's heart and love. I think once he feels secure, he won't be so high-handed. To be fair, even in Eps 31-32, he is already starting to display his willingness to let her live the way she wants (e.g., write plays) and solve issues the way she decides to.

I highly recommend Lovely Runner if you haven't seen that yet. Like you, I rarely watch kdramas these days. I'm more into cdramas now.
