I truly enjoyed this show. It may not be perfect but it was an enjoyable ride. I literally stopped/paused watching other shows just so I could give my full attention to this one LOL. Although one thing I'm slightly disappointed with is how we were only given cute lovey dovey scenes between the ML & FL for only a few episodes towards the end. It's a bit of a pity because the chemistry is actually so good when they're being lovey dovey and they just look adorable together. But it's sad that we could only witness this cuteness for like 2 episodes hahaha
Also I realised they cut out 1 kiss scene :( it was the one where Yining is the one that initiated it. I was looking forward to it but oh well...haha
Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion, but I actually appreciate when the romance in a drama develops later in the storyline. I’m one of those people who tends to lose interest once the main couple finally gets together. Hahaha, I know it sounds odd! What I love about this drama is that it manages to keep me on the edge of my seat, even as it approaches the end. Typically, my interest fades as a series wraps up because there’s often nothing left to anticipate or get excited about. But here, the pacing keeps the tension alive and leaves room for more surprises, which is exactly what I look for in a good show.
https://x.com/Lou_Ann0404/status/1850007784840220923 Gotta love a FL that actually knows what she wants and that is to NOT get back to an ex-lover that only uses violence and force towards her (putting her in physical danger and harming her reputation) just to get what he wants. Not even a tiniest bit of chance is given and I appreciate that.
Yining is so lucky to have Wei Ling as a real father because he’s such an upgrade. Upgrade in terms of status as well as treatment hahaha. As per novel, he would dote on her so much!
I guess this episode was to wrap up the 2nd couple 'love triangle' and hopefully this would wrap things up for them too. Since now we know that they do like each other and have acknowledged their feelings. I mean i like them but i just want our main couple to progress so hopefully, their story can now take a back seat and let the main couple shine. Shenyuan barely has screentime this episode 😅 but i get it since he's supposed to be away.
Also dang that LJX is definitely crazy enough to turn his room into a 'newlywed' room. *goosebumps* Now, that's just creepy. Also I wonder how old they were when they started hanging out. Because she just seem so young back then and was acting like a kid too whereas he's definitely already an adult. & he's talking about having babies with her and stuff? grooming alert, anyone?
I guess in historical context, it's a non-issue but still....haha
But It’s a bit dumb of me to feel this way because if this was a kdrama , we’d have to wait for a week LOL. I guess we’re fortunate that this is a cdrama hahaha
Can I just say that the action scenes are really well done ⚔️ would love to see more haha. I love that they made Shenyuan proficient in martial arts here so we can enjoy such scenes. In the novel, he’s just purely a scholar haha
Looks like 9th brother nan is coming 😭I really want to believe that the baby in the intro will be our leads’,…
Actually there was an interview with Zhang Wanyi and Ren Min I saw on twitter/X that kinda gave a spoiler that it’s their first time playing young parents in a drama. so the baby is definitely theirs🤭
I know most viewers want the romance to take forefront but honestly I don’t mind the pacing for the romance. But I’m also saying this as someone who loves slowburn romances and stories with romance just as a subplot lol so my opinion may differ from others. But the overarching plot within the show is too good so I don’t really mind the romance taking its time. But I definitely need Yining to be aware of her birth secret soon
In the novel, after Yining became Wei Yining, they were kinda separated for a while and during that time she still sees him as a brother. Yining only started seeing Shenyuan in a different light (in a non-brotherly way) after they got married. I wonder how they're gonna handle it in the drama. Whether they will stick with the arranged marriage plot between the two and have the romance (reciprocal instead of one-sided) officially start after they're married or they gonna change it up and have the romance start earlier before the marriage. Which would mean they need to have Yining figure out that she's not part of the Luo family really soon and have her reunite with her real father. Maybe the drama would take the 'separation/distance makes the heart grow fonder' route when she moves out of the Luo family and have her fall in love with Shenyuan during that time?
Also I realised they cut out 1 kiss scene :( it was the one where Yining is the one that initiated it. I was looking forward to it but oh well...haha

But the good news is that her real dad is finally introduced into the story. So we're now one step closer.
