I'm enjoying the first season, and then I get the news that the unbearable FL won't be in the second. I can't even express my happiness; it was already good, now it's even better!
i'm writing this being in the start of the first episode: i think we have a new classic... the first masterpiece of the year. what a life is to watch this type of storys!
The drama hasn't even premiered yet, and it's already the second with the most MDL members compared to current dramas being released. This could only go wrong if some rumor came out to affect the actors' careers. Aside from that, it's already a 10 here at home. I'm really hoping this drama gets at least an 8 without much difficulty. (I'll be surprised if it ends up being bad, but IU is in it so I'm calm. I trust her script choices; I think in the entire industry, she's only second to Lee Joon Gi in terms of role selection.)
10 dramas in 3 years, And I still have to be making excuse for actors who claim to be selective by choosing a new role every 2 or 3 years. Lee Jun Young, thank you for enjoying acting and dedicating yourself entirely to it. I have high hopes for you in the upcoming years.

I think you summed up the reason for the high rating. As a man, this perspective of a man obsessed with doing everything for a woman doesn't captivate me as much as it normally would the target audience, but I'm still amazed by this average rating. If I'm not mistaken, there aren't even 25 stories like that here on mdl.

Do I need to mention it? Literally almost no drama on MDL has that average rating, and the few that do had to assemble casts that I still wonder how they managed to afford.
Wow, this question deserves an essay, but I don't have time. Here's my quick and dirty bullet points/list, and…
I think your comment helped me understand my assumptions on the matter: Villains - so far nothing special for me, super common. Couple chemistry - it's good, but I'd say there weren't enough moments to solidify it well at the beginning; for me, they fell short in that aspect. Story - it's fun, but I feel they could have focused more on the male protagonist's side; so far, FL is carrying the drama on her shoulders. Fight scenes - aside from the fact that the direction is great, I didn't find them that good. There's good work in terms of visuals, but the choreography, in my opinion, isn't that interesting. Thank you for commenting!

The second option is my problem then. I think the story is still developing to deserve this current average, but I understand your points. I just believe that when people want to, they here on MDL tend to overemphasize minor problems in their ratings, and conversely, this isn't as constructive a start as I've seen so far. I wouldn't say it's mediocre, as it has excellent points, but for an average of 9, I really expected to see a great build-up from the beginning. I think slower starts are valid; they help with character attachment, but for example, ML hasn't been very convincing in that regard yet for me. FL is carrying the drama on its shoulders so far, and at this point (6 hours of content consumed), I expected a little more from it.

It's just that normally when I see average ratings above 9 here, I expect a very absurd and elaborate story, or at least something super captivating in terms of entertainment. It's not bad at all, but I wouldn't say it's the best based on the 5 I've seen. ðŸ˜ðŸ¤£
