I found the subs a little confusing bc tenses can be a little weird in Chinese, the simple verb can actually sometimes technically be past, present, depending on the context. So in the subs, they put it in the present tense which in the current circumstances is pretty messed up and immature. YMMV but as a native speaker I heard her rant as she was saying that from his current actions she now believes that she must have loved him more than he ever did her and is questioning if his feelings for her were ever as genuine as he said they were, because she took his teenage declarations of love seriously, which is what made her take the steps to become a doctor and try to move forward in her life to be able to be together, whereas she doesn’t “see” him having taken any reciprocal effort on his part to “match” the grandeur of those teenage declarations of love.
The tragedy of the series I think is that they accidentally met before either of them were ready to come together again- they hadn’t yet achieved the goals they set that would have allowed a more favourable environment for less wishy-washyness around the whole family issue and once they met they couldn’t stay away from each other.
