Because they make them unnecessarily annoying. They're usually loud & violent and nothing like real life people. I just don't like it. I hope this FL won't be like that tho.

I also didn't like the monsters, too campy for my taste. It's one of the main reasons why I gave it below 8 rating. I just couldn't take them seriously. The rest was good tho, I liked the overall theme and characters.
This was good! The ending was a bit rushed and could've been done better, but the show as a whole was amazing. The struggle between Kim Hee Woo and his adversaries kept my attention throughout the 16 episodes and it never felt boring or redundant. Kudos for the plot development!
Also, Lee Joon Gi never disappoints. I don't know why people compare this to FoE when they're completely different genres. It makes no sense.
This was rather disappointing. I liked the beginning and the relationship between the main leads but the crucial moments were mostly underwhelming and I didn't like the ending. It felt like everything they did was for nothing. The actors were good tho. It's my first time watching Yang Yang (the guy has a perfect face!), but I've already seen some of Zhao Lusi's works and I like her acting. I'll probably check out their other works. All in all, it was okay, but towards the ending I just wanted to get it over with. 7.5 from me.

I can't talk about others with certainty but I think most people came to love these actors after watching The Untamed, not the other way around. I do agree it's not a masterpiece because it has its own clearly visible flaws, but it also has its own strenghts that make it so beloved. Tight story being one of them. You need to watch more episodes to be able to appreciate the story tho. As far as I'm concerned the 'real thing' starts with episode 16. You may still end up not liking it & that's also fine, we all have different tastes and criteria.
The beginning was promising but it became absurd and nonsensical the more it moved forward. I wish they toned down the whole Yi Zhou superhero thing, it was so unrealistic that it became funny. The acting was good tho, I'll give them that.

I think I understand why the younger me LOVED this webtoon back in 2015. I don't remember many details so I don't know if they changed the story a lot, but the essence is still there. I'm a bit unsatisfied with the ending because of Na Il Deung; his story felt somewhat incomplete, but everything else was really good. I love the script, the acting, the CGI. I thought I would have some issues with the musical part, but they didn't overdo it so I ended up liking it. All in all, a really good drama. 9/10 from me.
I expected a lot more madness & the fact that Sado isn't portrayed as a madman, but as someone who is kindhearted, fair and idealistic, will make the ending even more heartbreaking.
However, it's one of the best sageuks I've seen so far. The acting of both main actors is amazing and their portrayal of this complicated father-son relationship is really done well. Their good times and love for each other & their bad times, including different conflicts and disagreements between them, are all realistic and believable. I also love how they managed to keep the tension high even though we all know how it's ultimately going to end.
I have yet to see the ending (last 5 episodes) but 7.7 is way too low for this drama.

The flashback ends in episode 33, so I wouldn't look at it just as a flashback but as an integral part of the storyline. I can understand you tho. When I watched it for the first time I skipped the whole flashback just to see what happens after WWX blacks out in ep. 2. I wouldn't suggest it tho, watching everything chronologically is much better.
As for the interesting part, I would say it starts with ep. 16 (major things start happening to the main character) but episodes before that aren't boring at all.
Also, I would say we're not meant to understand first two episodes in the beginning. They're there to pique our interest and make us wonder what happened to WWX and between him, Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng in the past, and once you finish the flashback you'll understand first two episodes as well.
So yeah, I would suggest watching a few more episodes before giving up. Story-wise and character development-wise, it's one of the best dramas out there in my opinion.
