yes but didnt we like spend 10 episodes watching shenanigans then suddenly everything started to happen and got…
I have yet to see ep. 14 (maybe I won't like it either) but for now (first 11 episodes) I think it's an alright drama. When I watch romance dramas I don't expect too much so maybe that's why I'm not too disappointed. But yeah, maybe last 5 episodes really are bad, I've noticed most people complain about that part.
On Lovers of the Red Sky Oct 25, 2021
I feel like everyone had high expectations so they ended up being disappointed with what they got. I don't think this is a bad drama. It's watchable, the acting is good, and there are some really nice moments (the CGI is atrocious tho) but it's far from being one of the best, that's true. I'm only on episode 11 but I rated it 8 because I do enjoy watching it and the whole thing about painters is different from what I'm used to, in a good way.

Just finished the last episode and I'm kinda sad that it's over and also sad that the entire story felt very rushed.…
I also hate what they did with Jiang Cheng and the core reveal scene. It left a bad taste in my mouth that not even good WangXian parts could fix 😓

He's doing just fine. Antis are running wild trying to "prove" how his career is over but when you look at things…
Yeah. I'll be happy with whatever role he chooses next because I'm certain he's capable of bringing them to life with his acting, and I believe in his ability to choose a good script too *fingers crossed*. Just, waiting for these c-projects to air is a PAIN. The process is so unnecessarily long and complicated.

I don't speak Chinese either so I don't know what's happening on the C-side but some of the rumors melon accounts brought to twitter were about the movie with Ma Sichun, and drama "Sunshine with U". According to them filming was supposed to start in September (for the drama) but since it didn't happen I wouldn't take any of these seriously. Most of these accounts just say he's in talks with directors without specifying anything. It's fun to read them and guess, but trust only the official sources. We'll know once he starts filming.

Hi guys! I hope I won't sound overdramatic, but I am new fan of XZ and I had no idea o f his existence since this…
He's doing just fine. Antis are running wild trying to "prove" how his career is over but when you look at things more clearly you'll see that those claims are baseless.

This year he had Douluo Continent; it came out in February and had 2 re-runs on CCTV8 while holding highest discussion and viewership ratings.
He finished filming S+ drama (The Longest Promise) not long ago and is also busy with highly acclaimed theatre show (A Dream Like a Dream) which is being performed in numerous Chinese cities. He's also being praised left and right for his role of Patient No. 5.

Just this year he had 20+ new endorsements and all of them are topping sales charts.

I would say his popularity has never been higher despite him not showing up in public too often (he does perform from time to time; just last month he appeared at the celebrations of the one-year countdown to the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, performed and became the Public Welfare Dream Ambassador of the Games) and only his birthday post on Weibo has 15M+ likes. No one else can achieve that.

So, despite some people trying to make it look like he's over, it simply isn't the case. To me it looks like he's trying to change his image from an idol to a serious artist/actor so he's choosing where and when to show his face, but every time he does show up his popularity is undeniable.

He'll probably take a new project soon. I've seen some rumours on twitter but until he starts filming no one will know for sure.

lol this series depicts Chinese invasion of Vietnam as Vietnam invasion of innocent china .wow. I would recommend…
We will, after the drama airs. Talking about this right now is nonsensical because no official news/announcements ever mentioned Vietnam and all we have are antis talking about that issue in an attempt to discredit an UNAIRED drama. Anyways, if it is pure propaganda I doubt viewers will kindly look at it, but first we'll have to wait and see what it's about.

Yeah, I usually ignore people like this but her original comment rubbed me the wrong way & I felt the need to reply in case non-fans see it and think it's true.

I'm not twisting your words. You keep editing your comments after I reply to them. Also, you backtracked and completely changed your original post so there is no point discussing this any further and I have nothing else to say to you.

And since you mentioned his co-stars and hate they receive, I could also go on and talk about the hate he received just a few days ago on his birthday from the fans of his co-stars but it didn't happen on this platform so I won't bring that toxicity here. Toxic fans exist in all fandoms. Period.

I can and I do. I've met them myself. The existence of toxic fans is not an issue at all. The issue I had was with your original comment in which you made it look like his fandom caused his downfall because they wanted to stan an artist who went through hardships and came out victorious.

Also, if I maliciously and knowingly bring harm to someone I claim to stan I am not his fan, I can only be his anti. If I act mindlessly and attack OTHER artists/people without paying attention to how it affects the person I stan then I'm a toxic fan.

Anyway, you corrected your initial statement with which I had an issue so further discussion is not necessary in my opinion.

If they're malicious on purpose than they're not fans, they're antis. It's as simple as that.

Edit: It's nice that you edited your original comment. We can all agree that all artists have some toxic fans, but there is also a distinction between mindless toxic fans who attack others and malicious antis who pretend to be someone's fans to bring trouble to them. Painting the entire fandom as malicious (which your original comment implied) is toxic in itself.

Xiao Zhan malicious fanatics (I emphasize that I mean the negative folks, not the kind ones) don’t actually…
It's obvious to anyone who follows him and his fandom how nonsensical this entire post is. Even if the claim that his fans caused his suffering in the first place (which IS disputable) can be taken into account, saying that they did it on purpose just so that they could say how their idol survived the hardships and suffering and came out victorious is dumb on so many levels that I don't even know why I'm responding to this nonsense.

Also, creating a fake account to write this says a lot on its own.

directed @ the people who have watched this show: should i not watch this show first and read the novel instead?…
I started with the live adaptation and then finished donghua/anime before continuing with the drama. It helped me understand some things better but I think watching live adaptation alone would be enough. Everything falls into its place after some time, you just have to continue watching. As for the book, I never finished it, stopped reading halfway through. Although I LOVE this story the writing style (or just the way it was translated) didn't impress me so I never mustered enough motivation to finish it. However, other people love the book so if you're having trouble with the drama you could try that version first. I think it's fairly easy to follow. I did watch other versions of the story before starting the novel so that may have been the reason tho.
