I am glad that I did not buy the VIP pass from Tencent WeTV. I was waiting for Episode 1 and 2 before getting…
Well, people should be smart and wait for the first episode to air before buying VIP. And I say that as someone who has bought the subscription. I personally don't regret it because Xiao Zhan is the ambassador so at least it counts for something even though I won't use it, but if people don't want to waste money they should wait until it's certain it's coming out. Asking for a refund now is just childish.
On The Oath of Love Sep 5, 2021
It was too good to be true. We've been waiting since 2019 so we can wait a bit more, though. Xiao Zhan's Weibo post calmed me down completely & I just hope everything goes well once they finally air it. Waiting is annoying, but C-Ent is a mess right now and I actually feel bad for all of them out there in the industry.
On Something in the Rain Sep 5, 2021
Does it have a happy ending? Do they stay together? Some of the comments got me worried and I don't want to invest 16+ hours into watching it if they're gonna break up.

Dunno. Modern K-Dramas still feel much different from western TV shows in my opinion, but since I've stopped watching western TV shows some time ago I could be wrong. I mostly watch Korean and Chinese dramas, and my favorite genres are historical/costume, fantasy and action/mystery but I also love Korean romance. I never really thought about it in depth but there definitely is something about k-dramas that make them more appealing to me. They're much warmer, in a way.

When it comes to romance I love how it's mostly slow burn and much less explicit. Tooth-rotting cheesiness also has its own appeal, lol.

If it's about historical dramas/movies I just love East Asian culture, costumes and history in general. I study history so whenever I watch western historical TV shows I keep checking if they're historically accurate which is quite exhausting so I prefer Asian dramas because I can just relax and enjoy without thinking too much about it.

When it comes to Japanese content, I'm not that familiar with it. I watched couple of dramas and movies, mostly historical, but that's it. I was never attracted by posters or descriptions so I didn't check them out. I loved watching anime back in my high school days but that's pretty much it when it comes to Japanese content.

Also, I much prefer one season opposed to multiple seasons format. As for the influence of global entertainment mega corps ... I honestly wouldn't know. It can be seen as both positive and negative. I appreciate new dramas we're getting from Netflix (they're high-budget and the production is great) but I also want them to keep their unique Korean charm (and I actually think they've been successful in that aspect, so far)

He's not tho. There's a kid actor playing young Eun Seum and from what I remember (someone correct me if I'm wrong)…
I understand what you're saying but I still don't agree. If the actor doesn't look too old and can give amazing performance I don't mind him being older. Without knowing SJK's age and just by watching this I wouldn't have guessed he was 30+, especially in the role of Saya.

But anyways, I see your point. I wrote my original comment because you mentioned him playing a "pre-teen" role, not just to be contrary. We can just agree to disagree xD

Title The Wolf
M about to start can anyone pls tell if the love triangle is d annoying one
Not sure what you mean by annoying but there definitely is one. I personally didn't find it annoying. SML is in love with FL but she only has eyes for ML who
in turn is trying to push her away. Misunderstandings between the mail leads are more annoying IMO. SML is quite likable and full of understanding, but I think most people wanted FL to be with ML anyway.

People are going to hate me..but I don't understand why they have adults play as kids-SJK is 35! Why is he doing…
He's not tho. There's a kid actor playing young Eun Seum and from what I remember (someone correct me if I'm wrong) Song Joong Ki's characters are 20 years old. He's much older in real life, true, but it's far from playing pre-teens. I see nothing wrong with that if he can pull it off.

Not really. By the end they become aware of their feelings for each other but there is no romantic relationship…
Not sure if we'll get season 2 tbh, but yeah, if you want to watch for romance maybe it's better to skip. This one is more about friendship and teamwork; there is some romance but it's not the main focus.

Title The Untamed
It begins with Wei Wuxian's death 16 years ago. Wei Wuxian was a part (head disciple) of the Yunmeng Jiang sect…
No problem. Happy watching! :)

Title The Untamed Spoiler
Lots of viewers say that this series is among the best there is. I'm already in episode 3 and I find the plot…
It begins with Wei Wuxian's death 16 years ago. Wei Wuxian was a part (head disciple) of the Yunmeng Jiang sect and Jiang Cheng's brother. Jiang Cheng is the guy who "killed" him 16 years ago on the cliff. Lan Wangji/Lan Zhan/Hanguang Jun is the guy in white, he's Wei Wuxian's friend and he tried to save him 16 years ago. He's from the Gusu Lan sect.
In the first episode we see that Wei Wuxian is resurrected by Mo Xuanyu who sacrifices his own soul so he could give his body to Wei Wuxian in order for Wei Wuxian to kill his family/enemies who bullied him and made his life miserable (therefore Mo family dies but still one person who needs to be killed remains. Wei Wuxian doesn't know who that person is, yet). Mo Xuanyu is the bastard son of Jin Guangshan, leader of Lanling Jin sect (and Jin Zixuan who appears in episode 3 and is mentioned to be Jiang Yanli's fiancee is Jin Guangshan proper son and heir).

Anyway, first 2 episode are in the current time. Episode 3 is the beginning of the story and is set 16 years in the past. The flashback will go on until episode 33 I think so instead of seeing it as a simple flashback you should just take it as an integral part of the story. It will show how all these characters came to know each other and what happened to Wei Wuxian for him to become the hated figure from the beginning of episode 1.

The only bad guys for now are Qishan Wen sect who wear red (but not all of them are bad). Other characters are visiting Gusu Lan's Cloud Recesses for lectures.

I hope that helped you a little bit. If you continue watching everything will fall into its place, and yes, it does get better in the future. The ending is also good and satisfying!

BTW, if you have any other specific questions feel free to ask ^_^

Is there much romance? Who falls first?
Not really. By the end they become aware of their feelings for each other but there is no romantic relationship as such in season 1. FL falls first.

Title Born Again
What's up with the low rating? I'm on episode 24 and so far it isn't a bad show at all. I hope the ending won't…
Bittersweet.

All in all I think it was a good drama. There were some very unrealistic details and plot-holes but they didn't affect my overall impression. All characters were likable and most of the time I couldn't decide whom to root for, ML or SML. I also think FL was likable and her dilemma was justified.
I like the reincarnation concept and the execution was good (didn't find it draggy at all).

No matter how it ended I would've found it bittersweet, and this ending was satisfying in a way. I'm gonna raise my rating because of its overall low score so 9/10.
Suzy Aug 28, 2021
The one I anticipate the most is The Oath of Love, but I'll probably check out Who Rules The World and One and Only as well. When it comes to c-dramas I mostly watch costume dramas.

4.4?! 😐
I don't rate anything that low, even the shows that I force myself to finish becase they're borderline unwatchable, lol.

Yeah, I guess the combination of the two would be the most accurate, haha.

Why is the rating so low on douban? I don't get what the Chinese fans want. Anyway, so far I really enjoy this…
How is it rated there? I personally don't trust douban ratings because it's full of haters and antis & a lot of dramas I like are rated low. I find MDL ratings much more trustworthy, even though they are unrealistically high most of the time.

Title Stand by Me
I really hope this doesn't have a sad ending, I'm too invested at this point. Qi Yan and Cheng Ruoyu have such a beautiful and tragic relationship. I rarely cry when watching dramas but their scenes in ep. 31 made me all teary. That's an achievement.
