I finished watching all 3 parts yesterday and this easily became one of my favorite dramas. It's so good! There's nothing I could complain about. I finished it in two days and didn't feel bored for a second. It's fast-paced, interesting, I like the balance between political aspect and action, and the cast was amazing. Song Joong Ki as Eun Seom and later Saya was my favorite. I like both of his characters even though they're completely different and his portrayal definitely played a big role in that.
I don't know if it's just me but I've watched 10 episodes and this is hella boring. I don't want to drop it because…
I finally finished it. Second half of the show is more watchable but still not that great. I don't really understand the high rating. The main reason why I completed it at all is Yeo Woon, to be honest. His character is the most interesting thing about this whole show. The ending was also....idk, I found it frustrating.
I just checked other page.... Why there's no mention of XZ there but all come here to preach and fight in this…
I don't want to waste my time arguing with them but it's funny how I've never seen them commenting here about XZ before but they're quick to show up and argue when it's about that topic. It's extremely amusing.
I'm in episode 12 and I'm so bored to the level of dropping it ,, it has nothing that interests me ,, I watched…
I can't say you'll come to like it if you continue watching BUT first half of the show is a bit slower. Once they introduce all members of Shi Lan Ke and they start working together things will finally start moving forward.
Just got 'windmill' About the cp fans, When someone doesn't say they are gay and other people insists that they…
I would just like to say one thing and then I'll excuse myself from this discussion. What he is or is not is irrelevant, there is no reason for us to even talk about his sexual orientation. As his fans we are here to support his works and to enjoy in the content that he willingly gives us. People who follow him know that he's a private person who doesn't like to mix his personal and professional life. What CP fans do, especially those in China, is going directly against those wishes. Making assumptions about his PRIVATE life, harassing his colleagues, not respecting his other projects and making things hard for him by doing stupid and unnecessary things like what you mentioned. The thing his fans find the most frustrating is how CPFs don't see him as an individual multifaceted person, everything he does is seen in the context of their imaginary ship. They don't care about his professional efforts, all they see are candies on which they can build their fantasies. Even IF that relationship was real, people should back off and leave his PRIVATE life alone. Pay attention to his dramas, movies, endorsements and music and stop digging into his personal life. It's that easy. We've been told: "be closer to the artists work, stay away from his personal life", it's time people start respecting his wishes.
Also, this is directed at people who do above mentioned things. Those who just like more than one celebrity but can respect them as individuals who have their own respective careers should stop fighting with "solo" fans. We're all here to enjoy in their works. If they're not working together on a project stop bunching them up together and respect their individual efforts. If one actor is working on his own project RESPECT that and stop making it about other person. They are solo artists. I don't understand why that's so hard for some people.
Can anyone tell me how the photomontage of XZ rehearsing for Dream Like a Dream and another actor sitting very…
You're not the only one. I'm not a confrontational type of person and CP fans are very good at spreading their "toxic solo fans" agenda to people who have no desire to look further into the matter so I just leave them be. I think people who really like and respect Xiao Zhan and his works will sooner or later realize some things and come to their own conclusions. If they like and respect him they'll stop doing things that harm him, if they don't respect him then talking to them will achieve nothing.
Also, related but unrelated, even though The Untamed is my favorite drama I don't like that photo album at all. Aside from CP montages that are unrelated to the drama itself, it's full of memes and random edits. I don't understand why people upload that stuff, isn't it better to upload official photos that actually show how drama scenes/aesthetics/etc look and which will help new/potential watchers? It's so messy.
But anyways, I reported that particular picture you mentioned. Others are related to drama promotions (I think?) so they're fine I guess.
It was 10/10 until the last two episodes. They weren't bad in any way, but I was still left unsatisfied with some things. Nevertheless, the mix of humorous scenes and emotional scenes was pefect throughout the drama. I've laughed so much but there were also many instances where I was seriously touched. 9.5/10 from me.
Also, I finally noticed Jung Hae In thanks to this drama. I've seen him in some other shows but never got overly interested. I'll definitely check out his other works after this. Captain and Looney were my favorite duo.
I didn't expect much because comments/reviews here are not that flattering but I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed watching it. It was visually pleasing, fighting scenes were done very well and acting was also good. I see people trashing Nam Joo Hyuk's acting but I think his acting was fine. I really like the opening scenes with the big battle going on, I think his acting there was really good (but he wasn't lacking in any other scene either). All in all, it's a good watch for people who like historical movies. 9/10 from me.
The fact that you don't know he takes challenging projects doesn't mean he doesn't take them. He's acting in a 8 hours long theater play across the country that's anything but fluffy (and is getting praised left and right for his performance), and also has two other unaired dramas that aren't xianxia. Also, saying something isn't challenging because it's a xianxia romance is a bit ignorant, if you ask me :)
I understand that this adaptation have no BL... but do you think guys will enjoy this? Because I am thinking of…
Not sure about the guys but my aunt who is 60+ watched it and didn't notice BL elements and was even surprised when I told her about the original novel. I guess it all depends on the person who is watching.
My bf and I tried this show 4 times, I can't even get past half of the first episode. ._." No eye candy, slow…
It took me more than a month to get past first 4 episodes but after that I finished the rest in 3-4 days. It really gets so much better after the first few episodes which are very confusing (to me at least).
I seriously think this Drama should always remain the number 1 rated Chinese drama! It has become my favourite…
Agree, kind of! The acting and the script of this drama are unparalleled. It's really one of the best.
Nirvana in Fire and The Untamed are my two favorite dramas but they are very different. If you do decide to watch TU don't expect to see something similar to this. You can easily see the relationship between the MLs as bromance/friendship, but before everything else it's a story about Wei Wuxian and his sacrifices that led to his fall from grace. His relationship with other ML is beautiful and inspiring but in the drama adaptation it's more platonic love than BL. Sorry, just had to write this. I see a lot of guys reluctant to give TU a chance because of BL aspect when the story has so much more to offer.
For those who don't already know, Xiao Zhan's Spotify profile has been finally verified and consolidated so we can find all of his songs (that are available on Spotify, unfortunately Guangdian/Spotlight still isn't) in one place.
I don't know if it's just me but I've watched 10 episodes and this is hella boring. I don't want to drop it because people say it has a good bromance but so far I haven't seen it. I hope it gets better later on.
He's part of the love triangle with the main leads and while he doesn't get the FL he does get a happy ending with another character. Ji Chong is a really likable characters so if you like Xiao Zhan I would suggest watching it.
Look, there's a channel on YT that is very dedicated to XZ, and since I've been watching it (for so long I can't…
Oh, Just be Station! I watch them regularly to keep myself updated. It's a great channel for international fans who can't keep up with what's happening on Weibo (or in C-Ent in general) but want to be informed nevertheless.
I'm happy with the trailer! It's visually very pleasing and Xiao Zhan both looks and sounds amazing, his dubbing improved a lot. The angst is to my taste as well. I can't wait to watch this! :D
I really hope we get the second season T_T
