I have to say it, otherwise I'll suffocate.XZ is almost 30 years old, he is an adult man. Most of his fans are…
I both agree and disagree. I don't really enjoy watching slice of life dramas but I would also like to see him in more 'serious' roles, especially in historical production or something like Flower of Evil (thriller, psychological, crime). I was looking forward to AT for that reason but my enthusiasm evaporated. I love fantasy combined with ancient costumes and history so I'll always be happy when he appears in xianxia/wuxia but I'm also looking forward to the more realistic roles he'll take in the future. Seeing how he's serious about acting and improving I'm sure there will be more roles like that after Yu Gu Yao.
so reading the description how do they go from friends to lovers? is it gradual?
They don't really get to be lovers. They become aware of their feeling by the last episode but nothing happens between them, maybe in the next season. They're always together throughout the drama so you could say there are some romantic undertones tho, but very light.
I wonder why people want XZ and his fandom to keep quiet about all this AT issue. He himself practically said…
Blaming his fandom is easy, doing some research in order to understand the whole situation is harder. I've noticed many people don't even know how things in C-ent function (with data and different types of rankings) but they want to scold or "teach" his fans how to support him. It would be funny if it wasn't so irritating.
At this point in time Xiao Zhan's FanClub has released a message stating how we should be rational & support his…
I'll personally wait to see how the situation unfolds. If it stays like this I won't be giving iQiyi any money or heat because I can't bring myself to do that. What they've done is really despicable and it was unnecessary. I'll watch the drama (ofc) and promote Xiao Zhan/Gu Yiye but I'll ignore their official accounts/app. If XZ Studio decides to *actively* promote AT, like they did with Douluo Continent, I'll probably change my opinion and give in but for now I'm still very much resentful, lol.
Now, in episode 12 and I'm jealous of the people who are at the point where the drama hooked them. I'm still not…
Hm, I can't exactly relate because I was hooked from the beginning but episode 16 (from what I remember) is where it started to get really interesting for me. If you like Wei Wuxian you can look forward to his character development in the future!
I will be brutally honest, after reading the original novel, with the manhua, and watching the animation series,…
"...it would be better to not even make the series at all because it insults the readers of the novel." - what kind of flawed logic is this? Lol. You would think people would be glad that others are picking up the novel thanks to this drama but instead they choose to be insulted over it (´・_・`)
DiJun is a title for powerful lords of the Heavenly Court. The Heavenly Emperor is the head of the Heavenly Court.…
I thought DiJun was the title of the ruler of the heavenly realm but then Heavenly Emperor appeared so that made it confusing (for a while). Blood contract and the whole concept of spiritual beasts isn't what confused me, it's the concept of celestial being from the heavenly realm being subjugated to someone from mortal realm when they kept implying that heavenly realm and its residents are 'above' mortals, cultivators or not. But like I said, I'm pretty new to this genre so I need to watch more stuff to sort things out in my head and understand the workings of the whole genre. Thanks for the explanation tho, it's helpful.
Not a big fan of the dark magic or ghost story. Acting of some casts were so so and sometimes exaggerated and…
To each their own. I dropped Royal Nirvana after seeing 7 episodes because the only thing I liked about that drama were its visuals, everything else was incredibly frustrating. For you to understand why people like this you would have to watch more episodes because 12/50 is basically just the beginning and nothing important really happens in those 12 episodes. However, if it's not your cup of tea it's better not to force yourselves to watch. Everyone has their own preferences and that's okay.
I wish I could reply to your question below, but I have a terrible memory. About the Xianxia elements though,…
It helped a lot while I was watching. I remembered reading it before so I went back to check some information while watching this. There were still some things/minor details I didn't understand but in the end I just went along with it and enjoyed the story. Thank you for writing that article btw! :D
Really loved his acting in Love and Redemption. I was sceptical at first but as soon as his character started showing emotions he won me over (his emotional scenes are VERY convincing).
Just finished watching this. I loved the story & Sifeng is my favorite type of character (although I do wish he was a bit less self-sacrificing) so even though I do have some complaints I can't give it less than 9 because I enjoyed watching it, a lot. It's my first 'proper' xianxia so I was confused about many things (Dijun and Heavenly Emperor - couldn't figure out their roles for a long time; Asuras, Devils and Demons - what's the difference; how can mortal have celestial beast/deity as their spiritual beast/pet etc. etc) but I think I figured out most of it by the end, lol.
I guess some would say it's sad (FL dies and soon after her ML follows) but as far as endings go I would say it's actually pretty satisfying, and other characters get happy endings.

(and he looked so happy!) ಥ◡ಥ)
