I've only completed the first episode but what a fantastic start. This moves quickly, has an awesome opening soundtrack & background music, it looks beautiful, it's easy to understand, Shen Yue was adorable & Neo's acting has improved by leaps and bounds & the subtitles were easy to read. Costume drama has improved so much lately and it keeps getting better and it's accessible for all people these days! Really excited to keep watching!
WOW!! Episode 5!! That was amazing!! It's been some time since I have been glued to the screen like that!! Compelling story telling (atm). 40 episode long costume dramas tend to meander and get convoluted BUT so far this series is keeping you on your toes. Hope it continues!
He's rebuilding his career again with the short dramas. I can't wait to see him come back to full ones. I feel…
Dai Gao Zheng has never been the Main Lead of a long drama. He has only ever had supporting roles in LD. His career has mainly been short dramas and as far as I know he has never left the short film industry. He is known as the king of short dramas.
I have come to this party really late! But since all the episodes have been released I can enjoy this series uninterrupted. I am only halfway through episode 3 and I AM LOVING IT!! It's great to see such supportive male characters in a costume drama! it's so refreshing!! I adore Jing Tian our female lead but I have never been a fan of Zhan Wan Yi's acting. I don't think he is necessarily bad at it -- it's just his character portrayals have never been all that memorable (for me). However, this series may change that. I am looking forward to seeing more and hope the quality will hold out!! β€π€
I know this main actress is very popular but this is my first time watching her in a lead role. I only realised now she also played one of the assassins in My Journey To You. I actually like her better in this role. She is great!! I love her acting and I really love this series at the moment. It's really cute & fun with a mystery element.
I am enjoying this but I am halfway through episode 3 and I feel like the side characters are getting way too much screen time. They talk too much!! I just want our two leads to LEAD!! I want to see Ji Chu!!! ππ
I love how sweet and gentle Dai is in this and he is a lot more tame but just as sexy as he is reserved. I also love this female lead. She is very much the focus of this series. I love all of this!! The storyline is entertaining. I have never seen Marry My Husband so none of that stuff bothers me. I love Dai like this. I am only up to episode 4 but so far this is a big improvement from Sadistic Love and Heart of Stone β€π₯°.
I am so annoyed at myself, because for some strange reason I am not connecting to the drama that much.Even though…
You just described my exact feelings too!! There are so many elements about this series that I love but I AM NOT loving it. It's just sitting at luke-warm-like for me and it's confusing me. It looks good, it sounds good, it has a good concept and good actors (LOVE Song Zuer) so why do I find it boring?? Why do I feel like it's meandering. I also find the leads interactions much too juvenile for my liking. I want things to be more serious and darker so it's missing that punch for me BUT I also LOVE fantasy & whimsy and demons!! Maybe it's a plot/storyline execution issue and I have no anticipatory excitement either. I'm just utterly confused π I am halfway through episode 7 and I am hoping it gets better. π
The main focus is on women so I'm actually glad that Yunxi wasn't like Duke Su, Hanyan was the main star and she…
You can still focus on women and have a great male lead too because no matter how good Duke Su was Wu Jinyan was still the star in The Double. Same for Kill Me Love Me with Liu Xueyi and Wu Jinyan. β€
