I waited a long time for the subs. They are far from great, but the movie is far from great, too. It's not horrible, but nothing to write home about. I love, Love, LOVE (or rather, lust) Son Seok Koo, and I'm desperate for him to have an over-the-top romantic lead, but this is just meh. Good intentions, but missed the mark....
It's on YouTube with Eng subs. Just press the CC button and choose English :)Links here - https://kisskh.at/discussions/the-first-love-story/65675-where-to-watch
Very sweet - two short (short!) episodes but sweet and nice. Hopefully the production company gets the $ and can expand this. The actors and overall feeling is terrific.
Okay, so how did Ahn Bo Hyun go from biggest jerk bastard ever in Itaewon Class to pathetic faux-cest brother in Her Private Life to indie boyfriend in Yumi's Cells to hunk-a-hunk of kick-ass burning love in MPD???!!!??? My God! When he smiles and his dimples pop out my heart skips a beat. And can that man rock a suit? Yes, yes, yes! I thought his character was going to be horrible from the first few swarmy military scenes, but boy did the writers give me an unexpected but welcome twist in the first 45 minutes. More please!!!!
As for the FL, I never saw her in anything else and I think she's doing a great job - I like everything about her so far. After two episodes I think this is my new obsession (since Red Sleeve Cuff is over) - how I'm going to wait for two new episodes every week will be a mystery.
I'm getting massive Secretary Kim/Marriage, Not Dating vibes here - is AHS a poor woman's PSJ? Either way, this is an easy eye candy to help me get through the February blahs. Light and breezy (although the dressing room scene was beyond cheesy). Plus, I've now seen the grandfather in so many dramas I'm starting to think of him as my own!
This is a slow romance - no comedy, just the right amount of drama. Set in the insular world of music and philanthropic foundations, it walks the same streets as many similar dramaland shows (Secret Love Affair, Her Private Life, etc.) but without corruption and stab-in-the-back secret deals. It is sweet, special, you will get a small cry here and there, and the few (2?) kiss scenes are heartfelt and moving. The confession scenes will have you hitting replay - they are so lovely! The secondary stories flow well and hold their own to the main romance, and don't take up too much space. Plus, if you weren't in love with Kim Min-jae before (or you haven't had the pleasure yet) be ready to have your heart stolen. He has mastered the internal agnst like only a too-gorgeous-for words K-drama actor can - Wow!
High production value, beautiful music (the classical and the OST), gorgeous clothes, lighting, and interiors: this is warm romantic soup on a cold day :)
The main lead is so annoyingly pathetic, even after the plastic surgery, there is no real explanation why the ML likes her, and with that terrible personailty, how did she ever get an awesome best friend/roommate? We never see her smile, and all the situations where the FL and ML are together are forced and boring. There is supposed to be strong social commentary but I sure as heck didn't see it. All the other strong female charracters aren't strong at all. True Beauty (ironically with 1/2 the same cast) and Weightlifting Fairy (Ah, my love!!!) are 10000% better!
I fell in love with Yoon Shi Yoon from Your Honor, I fell in big-time lust with Kim Ming-Jae from Dali/Cocky Prince and Brahms, and who doesn't adore Lee Se Young , especially after Red Sleeve Cuff. Yes, the premise is silly and YSY's acting is over the top, but for the first 3/4th of the series it was silly, over the top kdrama-land fun. And then.....Why writers, WHY??!!?? They totally messed up something awesome with a romance that should have never happened!!!!! YSY's character should have been the catalyst to bring KMY and LSY together, not the other way around! No father, even one in a 23 year old body, makes moves on his son's crush - not cool dramaland!!! I had already invested 11 hours into the drama so I finished it, but each progressive episode got grosser and grosser (for me) as the whole love affair turned my stomach. I'm a kdrama watcher who can watch (and re-watch) the love scenes over and over again (Junho and Red Sleeve Cuff, anyone?), but I actually found myself fast-forwarding through the YSY and LSY scenes just to get to the finish line.
In the future dramaland, MORE KMJ and less (for the love of God!) dads hitting on their sons' girls.....
If you're on the fence - watch it! It's really good - totally different than kdrama-land, but in a good way. No romance, lots of thriller, some emotions, excellent detective work on all parts, strong characters - a truly fantastic ride. The 40 minute episodes fly by. Be careful on binging, though - you may have to take an emotional break - it's that intense. To the writer, director, and actors - BRAVO!
Hi, if you're on the fence about whether to watch this one or not, watch it! It's like Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None but with a K-drama twist (and fantastic K-drama clothes!). I have new apprectiationg for Lee Joon Hyuk, but all the acting is fantastic. Only 12 hours long, it's time well spent. The last 6 episodes you will be on the edge of your seat. Whatever you do, though, DON'T read the Wikipedi page - major spoilers. Go into this blind and you won't be disappointed. A female director, too!
