I think this drama shows a lot of references to other dramas (besides that professor's parodies) and I am sad I may not get them just because I haven't watched those dramas/movies. But I guess that most of the scenes with dramatic out-of-nowhere music and tacky lines are actually references/parodies.
I liked this drama.
One of the best male leads I've seen in dramas (from the real-life point of view!) in my opinion. He is great as a person and watching him I thought that I'd like to be a person like that: express myself freely, be kind and polite to everyone, trying to see things from the other's point of view, wise and mature.
I can't say much about their “teacher-student” romance because there wasn't any… You just have to accept that they're “fated lovers” or something like that, to believe that the short time they spent together (not together as a couple, just spending time together) made him keep thinking about her for 13 years.
As many people said this drama is not very special, it's average, but I think it was still good and entertaining. I marathoned it using FF only for a couple of scenes closer to the end (the side characters I didn't care much about).
Some people complained that she stopped being as bad-ass as she was in the first few episodes. Well, I think I'd get irritated with her if she would keep being bad-ass all the time. She is 31, a respected doctor, an adult. She should't be using violence if it's not for the emergency (and she surely uses it when it is an emergency).
Kim Rae Won's character is supposed to be 40 after the time jump. He has less wrinkles than I have in my mid-twenties т_т
Usually I don't enjoy romance genre J-dramas, because for me they seem so sloooow and the characters are often hard to sympathize with. (But I like Japanese detective dramas a lot). This drama is different, it doesn't have much dramatic stuff as well, but the characters are endearing. I loved how Kanata confessed, haha.
ps Didn't get the point of “the villain” in this drama after the first few episodes. His scenes are just ridiculous and don't move plot anywhere at all.
Damn that ending! They'd better give me the 2nd season with his journey "back". At least that could make a great arc. I think the ending goes well with the name of the drama, but not with his character. It seemed too out of nowhere for me. Still enjoyed this drama a lot. Loved the little bits of humour.
Okay I think I'm missing something... how do they have the authority to take criminals out of jail as they please?…
They are not released they are being used outside of prison walls and have to return there once the task is completed. There is a chance that they can flee but that is the point why many people are against it, it is certainly risky, but the authorities decide to take this risk to save possible victims of another serial killer.
When the police needs to complete some operations where criminals who are already caught are needed for reducing suspicion of the operation being a trap, the police usually make deals with them in return for reducing their time. In the drama it is the similar situation, just more dangerous because of the criminals involved. Well, I doubt it would happen in real life but this is a drama.
I am afraid that many people will have too high expectations after reading the comments. It is definitely a very interesting and entertaining drama, but for me it was not so perfect. I expected more of a mystery-thriller genre, but it has it only in the first few episodes and then there is no mystery at all. It becomes like a totally different drama after some point.
Instead it has a very touching love story and interactions of the “psychopath” doctor with his colleagues and patients. So don't expect to see some thrilling detective/crime/mystery story, but mostly a very nice romantic story of growth of a doctor who cannot empathize.
If you like this drama I'd suggest watching Bad Guys, there is no romance, but it is really good and have a character with the same disorder. (I am not comparing these two dramas, they are very different, just think that people who enjoyed this one would like Bad Guys as well).
If I had watched it when I was in high school I'd have thought that this drama was pure perfection. But now I watch and can't help but think that the writer uses the most obvious and simple things to manipulate my emotions and it doesn't work… and I often get the thought ‘this is so fake!!’ and cannot relate to characters seriously. For me the humor and DaeYeongxMyungJu save the drama and make me want to keep watching. Of course it also helps that the both leading men are so amazing. And I mean not only their faces but their personalities which are very good and inspiring…
I am still on episode 7 maybe my impression will change.

update: Finished it. I liked it more and more with each episode, there were many endearing and funny characters. Loved Lee Chi Hoon's story and the bromance between Shi Jin and Dae Yeong.
I liked it much more when they finally got back to Korea, because there are too much ridiculous stuff in the “Urk part” (although it has incredibly funny scenes too). I'd suggest watching it with low expectations than you'll be able to enjoy it to the fullest. It is entertaining but you will have to suspend a lot of disbelief and watch it as a fairytale.
7.5/10 for me
Finished watching this and it was okay but I didn't really care for it. But I do like the psychic powers premise.…
If you watch japanese dramas as well you may try «higanbana» http://mydramalist.com/15703-higanbana-keishicho-sosa-nana-ka although it gets subbed veeery slowly (now 5/10 eps are subbed), but the special is fully subbed (it is like a movie-prequel to the drama).
this mrs cop is too emotional and because of this it's hard to watch for me. I like when detectives are rational and smart, but although she is supposed to be cool and tough, she always whines, shouts and does irrational stuff. it could be an entertaining drama with a few weak points if they made it shorter, but stretching it so much ruined it totally for me.
Trying to marathon this drama, at some point I just imagined a few screenwriters sitting around and playing the game "write a page and pass it to the next person", because the plot doesn't move forward, all the same stuff happening with little variations, magic powers can be totally random and some characters change dramatically without any build-up. Right now I keep watching mostly for the cast, all of them are doing a great job…
Tbh, that kiss was romantic and all, but I always feel uncomfortable when in dramas male lead kisses the girl when they are not dating and she even rejected him before. It feels great because it was Se Ho, but imagine Gary doing the same thing after his confession… I am a bit disappointed, but still love how Se Ho's character is written and acted, love that he is so vulnerable and brave at the same time.
