When he talked to his father, he came to know that his father did not have a choice back then. His father is asking DFQC to kill his soul to get rid of his emotional root. DFQC can't do it. He rather feel the pain of killing his father and pain caused by emotions and love. He doesn't want to forget those feelings. As he is already tormented by killing his father, I don't think he can do it again this time around. With the recovery of his emotions he remembered all these feelings he experienced before his emotions were taken away, fatherly love, brotherhood, the love for his nanny etc. Since he regained his emotions he just made a conscious choice of feeling again on top of not wanting to kill the soul of his father. Also if you remember XLH told him that having emotions is not a weakness. All of this I think made him choose to change.
Woah. The number of voters/reviews for Love Between Fairy and Devil already surpassed that of LLTG on Douban. The gap before is 40,000 to 50,000 if I remember correctly. Thinking if I should also watch LLTG, heard good things about it but I am not a fan of political dramas. 😭

I know right. But happy for them it's better to have lower expectations at the start then becoming a hit rather than the overhyped dramas that did not live up to expectations. Love this for them. I am sure all of the cast and crew are very happy with their work despite the budget.
What more beautiful this drama can be if only they have enough budget. Well will never know but overall happy with what is now. They made the most out of what they have and it shows.
