Title Blueming
Seems like this director Hwang Daseul is single-handedly lifting Korean BL into god-tier with her works. I have no words.

As an impatient person with a bad attention span I really like the length of the episodes and the pacing of this show. I rather have this than bloated one-hour episodes that consist mostly of filler made of generic tropes and uninteresting side couples. But it's also a huge difference and much better than those mini-series we mostly had before.
I think To My Star stays my number one for now because I see some flaws here and there and the acting is not quite as outstanding, but Semantic Error is really fun to watch, quite memorable too, and will easily become my second favorite Korean BL I think.

I particularly don't remember Ryu Ji Hye being an annoying character in the manwha! How come she's getting on…
Yeah I also liked her more in the webtoon. The actress' acting here also feels kinda generic. She's still cute but a little bland.

Odd that no one seems to take issue with the romanticized stalking and bullying of a chracter who obviously suffers…
I also thought moving next to him was too much, from what I remember this wasn't even part of the original plot. I dunno why they always have to dramatize everything in the same over-the-top way when turning stuff into a TV drama. This just makes everything feel cookie-cutter and predictable. That being said I'll just ignore it for now since the rest of the drama is really good.

Good thing that I was alone at home when I watched the ending. I made some noises that would probably have left others slightly disturbed.

I lowkey hope Pat's friends pull some "the main reason we're upset is not because of your bf but because you didn't tell us anything and lied at us" but I guess that's unrealistic :/ oh well time to use this long week ahead to mentally prepare for drama

Great I didn't even plan to watch this since I don't care for either the actors nor the genre. But just now I was super bored on a train ride with absolutely nothing to do so I put up the first episode and now I'm hooked. I'm curious what they have in store for the coming episodes.

I just started the first episode and I literally hate it (the first episode tho), nothing is happening and I don't…
For me it clicked with the third episode so maybe try to watch up till then to see if you like it or not. The fights between the two departments are really kinda childish and I ignored most of those scenes, but I think it was already tuned down a bit in ep 3&4

I think the third episode now has sold me completely. They're so cute. I had high expectations for Ohm after seeing him in He's Coming to Me but he fulfilled them easily and the other guy is also great at his job. Though the way they are always toeing the line between flirting and joking around is really stressing me out lol

I don't know the two guys that were cast I just hope they can act well. I've just recently read the webtoon and it was sooo good. Hopefully the cast can do it justice.
If anyone else wants to read it, most episodes are available for free and legally on Manta so pls support the author and don't go on those shitty illegal sites to read it

Lol at the "Girls shouldn't carry something so heavy"
Girl: *literally carries a piece of cardboard*

Anyways this episode was so cute. And I'm not surprised at all that Cherry Magic fans like this show xD
On You Make Me Dance Aug 20, 2021
Okay the mixed reviews made me hold off watching this for sooo long. Now I finally gave it a chance and.. it's actually super nice?
Sure, this show is definitely rough around the edges, from beginning to end. There are some things that don't make sense and the set-up is kinda ridiculous too. But I loved the music and the atmosphere of the show. I adored both characters, the acting was definitely on the better side, and the chemistry worked pretty well for me. The production quality was surprisingly good too. The dancing I expected to be super cringe, since I often have this problem when some sort of performance is shown in a drama. But here it actually worked for me? It might have helped that I have no idea about contemporary dance lol but yeah, I actually ended up enjoying those scenes.
The plot has its ups and lows quality-wise, especially the ending didn't make much sense, but it was sweet so I'll forgive that. And I liked how for the conclusion, they incorporated the important story elements so that connections back to the beginning of the show were drawn.
For some it will work, for some not, but I'd say it's worth to check it out at least.

Just watched ep 1 but the romance part is extremely cringe? Everything else is awesome but please, can't they tone it down with the glitter a little bit lol
On To My Star (Movie) Jun 16, 2021
There's nothing good on air right now so I re-watched this drama as the movie version. I didn't notice anything new but I'm again blown away at just how good it is ... the acting, writing and cinematography are all easily 10/10. It's just such a pleasure to watch every second those two guys are on the screen. The actors are amazing at conveying the most subtle emotions, and the portrayal of the characters is so natural that you completely forget that they are acting. The writing also created two very layered characters that feel super real and nuanced, and the dialogues again feel natural and are very expressive while never being too cringe. The story is simple but just perfect for the time they had with this short episodes. Everything is packaged neatly together and the pacing is flawless as well. This show is such a gem, easily and by far the best Korean BL for now.

Title My Roommate Is a Gumiho Spoiler
Soo I watched the first two episodes because the webtoon was fun. I'm surprised that it was not that bad. There were a few funny moments here and there and I liked the leads overall. Even though they both definitely feel different from the webtoon characters, they work well as they are.

It's just that.. I liked those parts that they kept from the webtoon, but I didn't like the parts that they added or changed. For example, it seems they want to introduce the typical ~mysterious murder plot~ but that never was a thing in the webtoon. I'm honestly tired of this kind of plot, it's in soooo many dramas starting from My Love from the Stars, but it seems they still have to put it in every damn rom-com even eight years later lol.

Second, they seem to want to add this old trope that the leads already knew each other from a past life which also wasn't in the webtoon and which also is a trope that I freaking hate and that I'm sooo tired of because it's everywhere and it's such a lame and lazy way to make viewers believe the leads were meant for each other... instead of, you know, trying to achieve this by creating complex characters that have great chemistry with each other.

Are you all watching a different show ? I can't even bring myself to watch the second episode @_@ The boss guy is irritating and annoying and the plot doesn't make any sense
On Nobleman Ryu's Wedding Apr 15, 2021
I don't really have the time and energy at the moment to get into something heavier, so this show is what I needed rn. I'm not even feeling the chemistry yet but it's light and funny. And the one guy just looks great in women's clothing I'm in awe. I just crack up every time he talks with this deep voice and nobody bats an eye lol

Yes, the first two episodes are super fun and I look forward to watch more. I love the opening song. The acting looks decent too.
But what is it with cdramas and female characters that are grown ass women but have zero brains and behave like spoiled five year olds. Seriously her character could be so awesome every time she is fighting I'm like yasss that looks so cool, but then she opens her mouth and I want to flip some tables. Why are they doing this to me
On Lovely Writer Feb 25, 2021
So far I liked the first episode. I personally didn't mind the sound effects at all, and some scenes were quite funny. Other scenes dragged out too much and could've been a little bit shorter though. But I wasn't bored or anything.
Regarding the two leads, I really like Gene. He's very grumpy and always so out of it, it's quite adorable. I wasn't that exited about Nubsib at the beginning, it felt like he was trying a little too hard to act cute, but towards the end I liked him a little bit better. There is a chance that he'll grow on me in the coming episodes.
Not too sure about the side characters, I'm not that excited about anyone of them yet.
