Title Pit Babe
I was only hearing positive things about this one so I was surprised and a little relieved that I see some criticisms…
Regarding why there are no omegas, there is a post on X (I can't find it but I know someone linked it here) where I'm pretty sure the author of the novel said they had to take out stuff from there if they wanted it to air? And that meant that they had to remove the omegas. I don't want to give wrong info since it's been a while since I saw that post, but it's something along those lines. But yeah, that would be the reason why there are no omegas in the show (but there are in the novel for sure).

I agree, I like some of the changes they made! I do think there are some parts that the book does a bit better, but I'll take the series over the novel (mostly because of AlanJeff!) 🀣

Pit Babe Novel spoilers for anyone who clicks on this

Yes, a lot was changed. There were no omega in the TV show, but there were in the book. Similarly, there's no Engima in the novel, but there are in the series. The novel instead has special alphas and special omegas. North is an omega in the novel and Jeff is a special omega. You're right about what you heard with Alan and Jeff - they don't get together, even though they kiss (it's Alan who pulls away because even though he likes him he's iffy about the 18 year age difference. Jeff doesn't care and tries to push but they decide to be phi-nong and that's basically it).

Other differences are:
- Kim isn't in the novel (there are a few characters in the show that I can't find so far, like Winner, and there are characters in the novel that weren't in the show).
- Charlie faking his death is - I think - explained a lot better in the book than the show. After Charlie has stolen Babe's powers to protect him from Tony, Jeff is worried because he knows it means Tony will now target Charlie and try to bring him back home. Charlie is relaxed about it but Jeff reveals that if Tony can't get him back, then he'll do what he can to get him to have a kid with an omega at the house (from the lore in the book, any child Charlie has will be likely to get his special alpha power too. It's still the same in the show where if Charlie steals a power, it cannot be returned to the owner unless he dies). Charlie is still pretty stubborn because he knows that Tony wouldn't want him to have a child with an omega (since if I read correctly, the chances of having a special child with a regular omega is quite small) but Jeff says it's possible he'd try to get Charlie to have a child with a special omega (like him. The thought disgusts the both of them, lol). That leads to the plan of Charlie needing to fake his death. I'm still reading but I also see that he had to keep it a secret because of Jeff having visions that everyone will die if Charlie tells anyone about it? Something like that, I'm still getting through it.
- Tony isn't stabbed by Kenta in the end. He actually doesn't die, he gets arrested instead
- Kenta is still Tony's body guard but he does help Babe who is sneaking around the house during the auction. He basically tells Babe that his job is to follow Tony's orders but he has his own brain and can think for himself.
- The auction is literally auctioning children. Like Tony doesn't even hide it behind their artwork.
- Tony actually doesn't die, but he gets arrested after shooting Way.
- Regarding Way's death, Alan tries to stop the bleeding while Jeff calls an ambulance but he dies very quickly. Babe is really angry rather than sad like in the show. At the funeral he tells Charlie that he'll never forgive Way and that he'll hate him for the rest of his life because of the betrayals and secrets. He does wish that in the next life for Way not to deceive him again and just to be his friend.

I'm still reading (mostly been scanning because busy / no time), but yeah those are the spoilers and differences that stand out to me the most so far.

I think he's an alpha without any special powers? I wasn't aware there were regular humans in the show but maybe…
Haha I'm pretty sure he is too xD

No, he's a regular human, so he doesn't have any special power.
The series had to get rid of the omega aspect of the novel. Yes, Jeff is an Omega in the novel - he's a special one because he has powers :)

I totally agree! The novel has so much more and I've only scanned through it, with a plan to read it when I have…
They do have some nice moments together in the book but it's limited and not enough imo. The tv series does it SOOOO much better and gives us more, like they're considered a proper secondary couple in the series but i feel in the novel they're a "will they/won't they?" couple instead πŸ˜”

Novel spoilers for anyone who clicks to reveal:

From what I read so far (because I skipped to their parts), Jeff wants to be in a relationship but Alan says no because of their 18 year age gap (by the end of the novel Jeff is 21 and Alan would be turning 39). So they decide to be phi-nong instead. I read it as potential to possibly be together later? But there's a line that says they don't talk about it anymore in the future so it doesn't seem like they get together. I'm not sure if it's the translation I read that doesn't make sense or if that's actually it. I choose to believe they're just waiting for now since they're both attracted to each other.

It's the only reason i prefer AlanJeff in the series - because they have a relationship that develops

It's gonna be a week since the last episode and to fill that gap I started reading the novel but let me tell you…
I totally agree! The novel has so much more and I've only scanned through it, with a plan to read it when I have more time~ I know that the author said they needed to remove some aspects of it so that it can be made into the tv show (namely the omega part of omegaverse if I remember correctly?) and that really sucks! North, Sonic, and Dean are in the novel. I haven't yet seen Kim and Winner (I don't think they're in there)

It's very interesting reading the book after watching the series. I loved the show and I'm enjoying the novel so far. Is anyone else doing the same? I'm having fun recognising the similarities and then also reading about the differences between the show and book 😊

So... They didn't even TRY to save Way's life? No calling an ambulance? No pressing a shirt against his wound…
Novel spoiler ahead:
In the novel Jeff calls an ambulance while Alan is pressing down on Way's wound and trying to stop the bleeding. Way dies pretty quickly even though this happens (ambulances do arrive soon after but it's too late). I honestly didn't couldn't believe that the show killed him off - and after reading about how Alan and Jeff try to help in the novel, I'm surprised that they didn't show anything like that either. It feels like they didn't give a fuck in the show, but they definitely did in the novel.

He was doing a test on the kid..if the kid was an alpha or enigma, he would have seen it coming and avoided that…
Not sure where to put this comment but in the novel (and I'm putting this in a spoiler just in case others don't want to see it - and hopefully you don't mind novel spoilers? if not feel free to skip, lol) it is also confirmed that a lot of children died under Tony because of the training he put them through. Maybe the writers transferred this onto the screen as Tony literally using a sword (because so far I can't see that in the novel). In that case, it would be for dramatic effect and I can see why it could be considered bad writing or a bad directional choice to some people. But if you were looking for an explanation as to Tony's cruelness, then I can confirm it from the novel as well. Hope this helped with your question/concern! 😊
