OMG YES! It makes sooooooooo much more sense in the book, there were a lot of things edited when they made the series!! I know that's normal but the faking death plot point was explained so much better in the book. Jeff was such as BAMF in the novel, I feel like he was downplayed a lot in the series too.

The series changes some things from the novel. For example, the novel has special alphas, alphas, and omegas - no betas. There are also no engimas in the novel. The series removed the omegas completely. In both the series and the novel there is reference to pregnancy, but nothing actually happens/that is not explored. Hope that helps!

I don't think they're not allowed to be with other pairings tbh (maybe that's situational), but I'm pretty sure the fixed partners are so that the companies can more easily sell merch and get sponsors for couples that are popular/well-liked. It might help the couple with brand deals too, but a lot of it is the fanservice aspect which will bring people into spending money on the couple's shows, fan-meets, and merch. I'd like to say it might not all be marketing and money related, there are a lot of on-screen pairs that have genuinely great chemistry, so it would make sense to keep pairing them up to especially if they're already familiar with one another. I'm so sad about this onscreen pairing dissolving for the series. NetJames have such great chemistry imo, and it was upsetting seeing Net crying in his live when talking about it. So in the novel, Jeff is an omega who was considered very special by Tony. Tony basically saw him as a kid who could do no wrong and kept him around (even though he usually raised alphas) because his future-seeing power was beneficial to him. Jeff as a result had a lot more freedom than the other kids, but when he got a bit older he didn't want to stay in the house any more. He basically ran out and got hit by a car and had to stay in the hospital. Then when he recovered, his predictions didn't come true any more and Tony suffered losses from Jeff's inaccurate power. So, because he could no longer predict the future, Tony kicked him out of the house and Jeff was free. It's implied (I think it's actually said but the translation makes it a bit difficult to understand fully) that Jeff had actually tricked Tony into thinking his powers no longer worked.
It really sucks that this wasn't in the show. It would answer a lot of questions as to why Babe was more important to Tony than Jeff (imo Jeff has one of the best powers).
