Bullying = a fact of Life … most unfortunately. I feel that K-dramas tend to overdo bullying than J-dramas,…
I do agree with that statement. It's probably because of certain stereotypes that found their way into K-dramas, J-dramas are written completely differently.
"Bullying" is one thing that is too pervasive in Kdramas … I started watching Ep 2 of this drama and…
Hi!
Sadly, bullying is a big part of all and any Asian dramas in general. The worst thing is you become partly immune to it when you watch more of them.. though I'm happy every day that my actual work situation is a lot better than this! (Even if bullying at work is a very real issue sadly, just this week there were figures released about a study done here in the Netherlands and they say about 25% of the people get bullied at work... which is a very high percentage.:( )
As for the bullying in this drama. There is still a bit of that going on, till the end there will be things in the work relationship that are not entirely... okay. The good thing is however, that everyone in the police unit grows closer and become a sort of makeshift family. But, the drama being what it is, it's still not entirely perfect... but trust me, they'll learn to like and depend on each other more. :)
Thanks for the compliment! Nam Goong Min is most excellent here, I think you'll enjoy his performance. It seems to be generally the thing that people liked best about this drama.
No wonder that Haeundae Lovers has a great cinematography, Haeundae is stunningly beautiful! I've never actually checked out that drama before, but I think I shall after your recommendation :) I always like cute and fluffy, such a good stress relief. Thank you!
Sandra, beautifully written review! But it's you, I'd never expect less from you ;) I will always love reading…
Oh, it seems I don't get notifications if people comment here? :( But thank you. I wanted to try writing a review as so many for this drama were so negative and it made me sad.
I'll try to keep writing reviews when the mood strikes. Thanks for the support, love. :)
Question: Does the show play any of Park Yoo Chun's songs or include it in the OST??? Ive not ever heard him sing…
He's not done any songs for this OST. I think the last official OST he participated in was for "Miss Ripley" in 2011. You can check it out here if you're curious about Yoochun's singing :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzM6Ts3gP3E
Viki seems to be subbing it, ep 1 is currently 93% translated, ep 2 61%. They say it's "only on Viki", so I think we might have to wait until they're done.. not sure though, can't find if else is subbing it. Here's the Viki link: http://www.viki.com/tv/26316c-spy?q=spy
To The Beautiful You was my first K-drama, and despite not being wowed by the acting, me and a friend found we missed looking at Minho's face week after week.. so he must have made an impression at least haha. Somehow we started SHINee's Hello Baby after that and then we were sold. SHINee may no longer be my top favourite K-pop band but they were my first, and it all started because Minho happened to be in TTBY, so this brings back some nice memories. Thanks for sharing ♥

Not to mention his dad died, that was heartbreaking. And I felt bad for Lee Young Ah's character too..

Tbh the only drama I can think of without a typical happy ending would be Iljimae... and even that could've been worse. It comes to the point where you just expect happy endings even for dramas where it'd be illogical, right? As for BOTC I thought it was sappy enough to fit the plot, lol.
You won't have much to catch up on - this week's episodes of 'Three Days' haven't aired out of respect for the victims of the Sewol ferry incident and in order to be able to broadcast breaking news. :( So tragic... I hope there's more information available soon. Those poor parents...

Haha yeah the Japan (okay, only going to Osaka/Kyoto)/Korea trip is my gift to myself for finishing university. It should be good fun, I'm going with a friend who really loves Korea as well. If you fit into my suitcase you're welcome to come along ;) But I hope you can go (soon) too :D
Ohh you wanna study law, that's interesting :D Good luck ^^
