Even though I don't wanna say goodbye to our Wolfie/Bunny couple, I'm not a big fan of extending seasons - we've all seen what's happened before, and there's too much potential for stuff-ups, and intrusion of off-screen external factors!
I definitely wouldn't mind seeing this couple pairing in another show, though, historical or modern!! As long as it's not too pastel themed!

Yep, just HOW sheltered a life has HY led that she has to ask her dad, "you're not doing anything wrong, right? they're the bad guys, right?" - even AFTER what she saw in the cave, and after she knew her dad was willing to kill off her beloved "Wen Jun gege" as an afterthought.
I need more HZ-WJ bromance moments! Haha, the cuteness lasted only about 3 secs before he was pushing WZ away and back to their bickering mode!
I have no idea they're supposed to wrap everything up in the remaining eps without it being rushed, or how HZ is supposed to go back, claim his throne, give it back, find a replacement monarch, convince everyone to let him be with Jiu'er, and find a way to keep her alive & kicking for decades to come.

Ep 30: yep, so the kidnapping of Qi peoples + Vitality Stone black market theory was right. I'd imagined worse - that someone was using them for a human experiment! But the reality is horrible enough. Glad to hear that the Vitality Stone can regenerate, though.
Ep 31: YAY!!! At last, Wen Ying is joining forces with Team HZ/JE!!
Ep 32: Soooo, is WJ vowing to take care of HY as her substitute father/brother, as long as it doesn't involve marriage? And then he's back to investigating cases with the Scooby Gang next day like nothing happened?! It feels like WJ's character development has hit a hiccup somewhere, although it's good that he decided to give up on Jiu'er AND TOLD HER SO like the kind soul he is ... But if WJ ends up with HY just because she makes him feel like he can protect her and be useful, imma throw hands! WJ doesn't need to feel guilty about "using" HY to find HZ - her dad was more than ready to kill WJ anyway!
Yay for the sweet HZ-WJ awkward bro hug!! I love that they can always put aside their rivalry and differences to put Jiu'er's happiness first, and that brings them closer together. I love that the 3 of them are now at the stage where they're ALL sharing ONE umbrella together!!
Personally, I don't think CP Wen Ying is our evil mastermind. I don't really see the CP as aligned with the Qi stone powder black market or the Snow Chamber's interests & activities, and his interest in/knowledge of Qi customs & games seems pretty sincere. Not to mention, he would NOT be okay with blowing up his little bro for his own goals! (think the Emperor is more suspicious, but we haven't seen much of him yet).
... And STILL no sign of Mu Yan!! *sigh*
I thought for a sec that MY might have been one of the Qis kidnapped by Marquis Xian, but don't think that quite tallies with the fact that the Marquis knew about the letter about MY bringing the Sacred Ember to Juxiao for a deal. Plus Lord Xian didn't seem to have any firsthand knowledge about where the Ember actually is. Turns out he was just cannon fodder scum who genuinely believed that Qi lives were worth less than Qian people (and lining his own pocket).
What has Mu been up to for 10 years, where's the Sacred Ember, and what happened that made him unable to reach out to his old friends HZ and Chilan?
* Has MY identified the evil mastermind and set a trap for Team HZ to catch them? (because he doesn't have enough power / influence on his own?) * Did he infiltrate the secret organisation, and can't let himself be identified cos he's undercover? * Even if he can't meet them, what's stopping him from even letting his old friends know the bare minimum - that he's alive, just trust him & wait for him etc ... ?? * Was he somehow tricked into giving away secrets about the Sacred Ember? Did he actually do something that (he thought) would sever the friendship? * I seem to recall MY (or his clan) were anti-Qian? How would he feel about his best bro falling in love with a Qian girl? Either way, it must have been a long and lonely struggle for MY without his friends and so far from home.
We know that when HZ last saw Mu Yan (the cliff-climbing scene), HZ trusted MY wholeheartedly and was willing to fight his dad/King over the unjust treatment of MY. Then 10 years ago he showed up in Qian and made enough trouble for them to make Wanted posters about him and caused Chief Inspector Su to investigate him. Then ... poof. He disappears and no-one's heard of him until HZ shows up masquerading as the Three Scar Man to draw out clues about his whereabouts.
Now apparently MY shows up via sneaking into Jiu'er's dream by spiking her meds, but doesn't wanna be connected directly to her by using his own Vitality powder. He's obviously counting on her involvement roping in HZ and Chilan too - so that he can get ready for a Big Reveal? (which hopefully includes finally revealing himself too!!)
But it's too early to say whether he's behind the Siren case and the kidnappings. Officially, no direct links to the Three Scar Man. But I bet it's all tied back to Shuobei and Chilan's investigation. Ofc, it's inevitable that the story arc would require Jiu'er to tread in her father's footsteps and solve his case and the mystery of his death (was he in Shuobei on a secret mission or a more personal investigation?)
And if Chief Inspector Su knew there was something suspicious about his black spots illness, enough to warn Jiu'er's mum not to say anything that would trigger JE to look into it, wouldn't he have left some other helpful hints, like the excellent detective he was? Your daughter's health and longevity is on the line here!

This show isn't the most complex, but I'm slightly worried - it's still got heaps of unresolved obstacles, and not many eps left to deal with them. Then they go and introduce a character like HY!! Gee, our writers must love a good challenge!! 😅

I'm tempted to think Three Scars Man = Mu Yan, otherwise there's WAY too many loose ends to consider and it will fry my brain.
It looks like someone (MY?) instigated for JE's medicine to be spiked with Vitality Stone powder from a Qi passenger/victim on the ship - he wanted her to investigate the Siren case (& by extension, HZ would get involved too. HZ wouldn't consume the Qi powder so he had to go through JE). MY deliberately revealed himself to JE during that dream (it didn't seem like MY was responsible for the Siren sounds ...?)
Why? To imply that the case was linked to bigger issues & possibly to her father? But other Qian people in Juxiao have been experiencing "dreams" about the Siren case too. (were they drugged too, or does that expose all the Qian people secretly taking the powder? Yikes)
From the latest Siren case, the clues point to Shuobei again. What's behind these sporadic kidnappings (since there's no mention of bodies found)? Are they being used as slaves in some underground profiteering racket like the Vitality Stone black market? Or is somebody building a private army?! Are they deliberately targeting Qis for their powers?
Given the timing of this case just before the treaty negotiation and HZ's departure deadline, it's got to tie in with Chilan's investigations too. Is MY finally getting ready to reveal his identity and expose a Big Secret which will shock the Qi/Qian nations and rock the established conventions enough so that our leads can have their HEA without too many sacrifices?
An aside: so much for the investigation skills of our leads! The 3 Scar Man has been leading them a merry dance from start to finish ...

I'm still rooting for Wen Ying at this stage. Even if he's playing tricks, I hope it's with the intent of the Qians keeping the upper hand & the Qi side in check ahead of the treaty negotiation, rather than harming the Qis.
