Because some other high profile people were being exposed for it and the victims saw it and actually saw it being taken seriously and felt safe enough to finally come out with what happened. Its not on victims to tell there story when its convenient, its on us to make it safe enough for them to say what happened by believing them and supporting them and holding the perpetrators accountable so that in the future its easier for people to come forward sooner.
