Douban is not that reliable too. Chinese netizens are on another level. But for international fan base, MDL is also one of the valid websites. Like many choose dramas here and if the rating is too low, they don't watch it. But i really don't know how the rating system works here. It's not that ok. For example, someone who drops on episode 5 and gives a 2 star rating shouldn't even be considered for overall rating.

yeah but if the droppings are on the rise, no matter how many 10s you give, the ratings won't change. And usually those who drop give veryyyy low ratings(3-4) and i also heard verified user's ratings matter too.

MDL ratings are weird lately. So many shallow and baseless dramas have high ratings( maybe troll's existence got to do with it?)
But i heard it depends on those who drop it and give very low ratings. MDL ratings doesn't matter much for Chinese viewers and the actors and actresses, yet it does matter for international fans. Because the first thing that comes to mind when choosing a drama is the rating. I think people should read the reviews too and make their own judgments first.

I'm seeing many beautiful dramas lately with 8.3-8.5 ratings and some very bland dramas with 8.8+ ratings :|

can someone tell me how's the romance developing? is it a slow burn or like it's kinda fast?

i saw that with another drama. If people keep dropping and give bad ratings, no matter how many 10s it gets, the rating doesn't go up

Many loved it on MDL, and there are those who hated it for being too sweet.
In China, it did well i think not quite sure
it's underrated imo. If you like smooth romantic dramas, give it a try. there are no complications or cringe, it's rather calm and warm and full of intimacy

If you wanna watch it, wait till episode 5-6.the story picks up after that.
Overall, it's a lovely drama

not a good drama in terms of writing. The character development was bad. The romance not that great either

I wish it had more skinships. The story is really beautiful but you can't just feel their love

yeah it's on my list to watch at some point. Now need something a bit faster. Cdramas always kill us to show a kiss scenes and usually that happens around episode 20. Road Home was a rare exception, like by episode 4 , we had a flashback kiss then on episode 10-11 they were already a couple. But i love dramas with good stories and YAMG seems to be one of them

the ML seems like a jerk. made me stay away from this drama

this is not the drama to take you out of slump tbh
it's very slow and takes forever for the leads to be together.
But the kid shown is cute

no pretty straightforward
the leads do get back together rather fast
