The statement "Kdramas should not contain bold gay relationships" is definitely wrong because what the hell is…
I did not make any homophobic statements. I simply said Korea is conservative in such matters, not that they should not make any dramas with gay relationships in it! And i made my point based on what i saw on the Chinese version, since this one is based on the former Chinese drama. This drama clearly took the same path till the last 2 episodes. You are free to make your own decision and interpret differently, whether or not there is a BL relationship here is up to the fans, and i simply stated my opinion. Also, the ending was far more abrupt and incomplete, since we could not see how the chef felt in the end and nothing was shown. Last but not least, any fan has the right to see the drama through his/her eyes and no need to be so judgmental about one's comment.
I think the ending was OK. why? As far as i know, Kdramas should not contain bold Gay relationships( correct me if I'm wrong). They could've simply adopted the Chinese version's ending, which in that case the ending would actually make a little sense; since there are many loopholes in the drama as to how the souls switched in the same body and when and where the dominant soul took control. It is obvious that the king loved the queen with BH's personality and BH loved him back too. But that's that :)) I don't expect much from Kdramas endings lately, just like how they ended other dramas such as Moon lovers scarlet heart ryeo; a total cliffhanger. Overall, a really beautifully-written drama :)
I must say, the writers took historical composition to the next level :) Started the drama a bit late and had to binge watch, i dare say it's one of the most surprising historical dramas out there :) As a sucker for romantic historical stories, this once caught me by surprise, yet i liked it. Not your usual cup of tea though :) As for the ending, it was somewhat expected ( at least better than the moon lovers scarlet heart ryeo's ending :|)
I had to skip a lot :) The story got really and pointlessly draggy as the series progressed, yet the second lead's story was much more entertaining to watch :)
Any suggestions? both Cdrama and Kdrama?
