Loving your rant!. I feel the same frustrations. I think Jang Uk is going to the dark side and roll on December but I hope the scriptwriting will be tighter. Too many loose plot holes and destruction of some the characters credibility and intelligence on the line with the last 2 episode as you have already alluded too. Sure Papa Jang came back to take ownership but he was the HEAD of a household corporation and disappears and comes back with no explanation?!? Don't even start me on the bells..... really where is the logic in this given what has been laid out in the plot.

She has real potential to do different characters who are not in her usual typecast of adorable feisty strong funny FLs. She showed she can do characters who are vulnerable, have layers and ambiguity. Thats strong acting skills.

Thanks for this or I wouldn't have known. I wondered why she was always around. I think there was a lot unsaid or left out in the drama from the novel. The novel probably had depth and detail whereas the drama did its best to tell the essence of the story.

Yep, YS has now been the SML for 2 of the biggest males stars in China and those films have been box office hits. Hope he will get a ML role sometime soon.

Yes, I felt that the 3rd Prince was not given the opportunity to shine or show his potential/across the court etc in this drama. Even one or two scenes more to show a more rounded character.

As I haven't really read the novel ( can't read Chinese)I'm not sure I could be as authoritative to compare. I have watched a number of C Dramas mainly to learn about Chinese history and culture ( plus light romance to relax!) In addition structure and flow are often hampered ,imo by government requirements and business drivers. Let me think about it! Meanwhile I'm going to see if I can rate this on WeTV. Doing my bit to help out.

Hi, the question has been asked a number of times but I guess the thread moves quickly here. Historically and culturally there are many meanings of a bronze mirror. Many have said that in these particular times (Han Dynasty?) a bronze mirror in the home is meant to keep evil spirits away. When the evil spirit has departed the house the mirror is to go to. By HBY giving the bronze mirror openly to LJT/her father as part of dowry gifts it says she is the evil spirit.... thats why she was shocked to receive it.
