JFYI, this drama adaptation is very different from the manhwa mentioned in Twenty-Five Twenty-One. The fans of the original were not happy with this show , and treated it as if it didn't exist. 😅 If Heedo and Yurim from 2521 saw this it's very likely they would have been mad or severely disappointed 😬 But it was very popular with the public who were not big fans of the original comic.
I've a feeling I will either really like this drama or hate it. The English description sounds promising, but the Korean one didn't. For me, it will depend on how the writer treats the ML's role. If it's a knight-in-shining-armor story where the ML does everything for a FL who once used to be strong but is now weak, I've got no interest. But if I feel like she remains the protagonist of her own story and the ML is just her support, I will watch.
I just saw someone mentioning that In korean language the mother said that she "go meet" him last month and not…
Her wording is incredibly ambiguous so there's still like 50/50 for a happy ending. We should be prepared for the worst...but there's still hope for a happy one!
I enjoyed the drama when it was following the webtoon's plot but was super disappointed with how things went after it started to do its own thing to fill up the remaining episodes. Dan Oh went from being a strong, proactive FL who took charge of her own life to being constantly dragged around by the MLs like a ragdoll. This drama shouldn't have been 16 episodes, but a short Netflix-style series or a movie instead. I'd like to a see another more faithful adaptation of the story that captures its melancholy, sentimental tone (rather than goofy, bubbly tone of the drama) but the drama wasn't a mega-hit so no chance of that... :( Ah well.
If you liked the drama, go give the webtoon a try! I came to really like the drama Dan Oh, but the cold, reserved webtoon Dan Oh who starts to brighten up as she hangs out with Haru is also very charming.
I see slowly hints that they are glamorizing/normalizing the behavior of the FL though. MY is having GT in an…
The main reason for my comment was that I didn't see MY's actions coming from pure malicious intents. And I still stand by my opinion that GT needs to see ST as more capable. But I agree that her actions were wrong and I don't condone it. I believe that she has the desire to help people, but it's being expressed in the wrong ways. Which is what they will try to work on, from the looks of it in the preview. And sorry for being unclear, but I didn't mean she didn't cause a wedge, I just meant the reasoning for causing it was more than just out of her selfish desire.

@FactChecker MY let ST decide his payment and it's shown he understands the concept of money and what a contract is. He has more autonomy than GT and most people assume, and MY can see that. She treats ST with kindness and respect that she doesn't have to if she was only using him to get GT. She genuinely treats him like an equal.
And it's important for GT to see that ST is capable and not someone who needs to be coddled like a child 24/7. This was consistently emphasized throughout the series, with ST being shown acting like a proper older brother to GT - he says GT can rely on him and he calls him out for lying. ST is his own person, and GT needs to understand that.
Also one line in the subs was mistranslated. The subs said GT can't run away FROM HER, but she actually just said he can't run away. I feel that there's a difference between the two, with the actual Korean having more nuance. The subs make her sound more manipulative.
So yea, I do not see this episode as MY driving a wedge between the brothers purely for her selfish needs. Sure her possessiveness is part of it, but I also see it as her respecting ST and her way of looking out for GT's well-being. GT has built his whole identity around ST and that's not healthy. Both brothers deserve better than their current settlement, and MY sparked the catalyst for a better relationship between the brothers and GT's healing.
If you guys loved this drama, please consider pre-ordering the Bluray set! It will only be made if enough people buy it, and they're trying for a directors' cut with extras like NGs, commentaries, and deleted scenes. I'm not sure if I can link to other sites here, but to do so, you'll have to go to their daum cafe. To find the cafe, search the ID hyenabd on instagram and click the profile link, and on the cafe's sidebar, you'll find a link for the pre-order that takes you to yes24.
I am happy that you have so much faith in Lee Da Hee, but I am not aware that you know the status of Kim Hye Soo…
If you really think they have no chemistry, you're in the minority because their kiss scene has over 1.2 million views on NaverTV lol. Even someone like me, who's pretty uninterested in romance, was completely blown away by their chemistry.
And the two leads add so much to their roles (some of the best character moments/dialogue were improvised) that if someone else were to play either one of them, it would have been a different show with two very different main characters. So personally, they're irreplaceable part of why this drama works.
