A Japanese cable channel anticipated a lot of viewership for Castle in the Time because of the popular male and…
What I am saying isn’t that it has anything to do with China (although technically it does—the rights to this series could be bought by a Japanese network only because the Chinese network wasn’t going to air it and sold them). ZZH was blacklisted due a “scandal” which pertains to tensions between Japan and China, which I think most of us know, so being in that situation and then having his show air on a Japanese network seems like something that some people wouldn’t look kindly upon. I am not suggesting he deserves any backlash as I have never thought so but it doesn’t mean that there WON’T be backlash. Hopefully there isn’t or, if there is, hopefully it doesn’t impact him. I am wishing him the best. As @Tidieu said, it wouldn’t be right for his talent to go to waste. I guess I’m just pointing it out because when I saw that Castle in the Time was airing, I thought he was no longer blacklisted… but that isn’t necessarily true.
This is airing on a Japanese network, so I guess it doesn’t really speak to whether ZZH is still blacklisted…
Yes, I know this but because ZZH’s scandal was centred around Japanese/Chinese tensions, I don’t think the situation is comparable with those other actors^^
wait are we actually getting this is zhang zehan not black listed any more and also a Korean actress have the…
This is airing on a Japanese network, so I guess it doesn’t really speak to whether ZZH is still blacklisted in China. Although given the nature of his “scandal”, I wonder whether this airing in Japan will mean that he is never going to be on screens in China again..?
I’m curious… Does anyone know whether Castle in the Time airing in Japan will be a final nail in the coffin, so to speak, of ZZH’s career in China? No matter, I hope this is the beginning of his return to the screen and that he is doing well ✌️
I love Leo and this plot is exactly the kind that I like… but did anyone else find it quite boring? Did anyone else feel this way and if so did it get better? I’m only on episode 5
Just saw that it is to be removed from Netflix in two days ;_; Does anyone know whether it’s moving to another platform..? To watch 50 hours in two days just isn’t possible hahaha
What is carved into Shan Gu Dao’s box/chest in ep 31? The subtitles I was using only translated the song that started playing at the exact moment it was revealed 🥲
"it's a dude. you want me to marry a dude? are you crazy? that's gross" it's not as gross as you, fucking homophobe.…
I agree that legalising gay marriage doesn’t eliminate homophobia but I don’t think that was ever an intended message; like, it was supposed to reflect Ming Han’s personal change of attitude rather than to reflect a change in the broader society. Legalising gay marriage doesn’t eliminate homophobia BUT very few homophobes would be accepting of gay marriage.
I also don’t understand hating homophobic characters whose primary intention as written by the author/screenwriter is literally to grow from that. The reason it wasn’t a gay man whom Mao married was because it would literally take away from the message of the story.
Hyun Woo is the cutest (and a good actor but we all know that~) so I’m looking forward to this. I wonder if everyone’s hair will be dyed or not? The character designs in the webtoon left such a strong impression so I hope so^^
No need to be so annoyed. The episodes aired almost a week ago. If you do not want to get spoiled, do not read…
Nah. Spoiler tags are there for a reason. People find and watch dramas even DECADES after their release and may want to contribute to the comment section—hiding main plot points, plot twists, etc. with the spoiler tag is simple common courtesy.
just binged this—i really couldn’t help it, it was too lovely
seo ha recycling all of ban ji eum’s lines was sweet, the OST added a lot, the characters were likeable (ae gyeoung was THE cutest hahah).
i think some parts were a little bit weak such as people becoming sick if they become aware of someone’s past life? not sure if this was explained better in the webtoon? also the relationship between seoha, his uncle and his dad wasn’t represented very well, in my opinion. but overall it’s very enjoyable~
and somehow i’ve gone through so many kdramas without ever seeing ahn bo hyun??????
