Almost 2/3 of the way through the year, and this is still the best drama of 2022. Probably the one thing that other dramas cannot seem to find this year is the steady flow of really good episodes. No dragging or fast-forwarding of tropey scenes or episodes needed.
I think so. There was a part in the OST clip that said to get his hellfire he was forced to get rid of all emotions.…
I am not sure how brutal or melo-tropey it will get. The intro before the drama actually begins starts with two pink flowers and two pink ice cream bars with a heart in the O of the Sweet On collection title.
OMG! Wang He Di is super cute!!! Especially in the soul swapping scenes. Unfortunately she's not. She can just…
I did not quite see it that way. She had the harder ask, trying to be DFQC, and I thought she nailed it. She seemed like a different person. Wang He Di did a good job as well, but he overshadows her, so it is hard for him to be the timid, little orchid. Again, both were good and I hope that they do not overuse it.
On a related note, the drama The Day of Becoming You is probably body-swap done best.

I feel confident that this drama will have a happy ending for the main couple. I have seen some ambiguous happy endings, neutral endings, and some technically "happy endings, but" endings. This drama seems much too rom-com to not have a clear happy ending.
There is a relationship chart in the recent discussion section up above. From what I gathered (generally speaking),…
Chinese fantasy dramas can be full of masks and hidden identities, confusing and multiple names, sometimes conflicting laws and rules, and many families/sects/lands/realms. The chart and the fact that this drama is relatively shorter make it somewhat easier to digest. I am glad it is streaming so I can pause or rewind to catch stuff I might miss.

That makes sense. I wonder if it will be as painful and traumatic leaving as it was getting it in the first place. I am really enjoying the way the story is unfolding so far (up to episode 10).
So far (up to episode 10), I have noticed a few flashbacks of DFQC that makes me think that perhaps the Lord Devil persona was not totally of his own accord. I hope that they delve into that because it makes him a more sympathetic character.

Probably the fan translation. English is my first language, and I often wonder how much nuanced characters and stories I am missing out on in these dramas.
It is part of iQIYI's "Sweet On" collection, and on the whole, they have been syrupy sweet dramas. Heavy on the…
I am not saying it is going to be a sweet fluffy ride the entire time. I have seen quite a few of the collection, and the melodrama is usually pretty mellow. If the drama resonates with you, I am sure it is possible to laugh and smile at all the highs and worry and cry for all the lows. It has been my experience that most of these shorter (24/36 episodes) romantic comedies tend to be safe when it comes to the low lows. Maybe it is because they are romantic comedies, or maybe the shorter length means things move faster, and not as much time to put the main couple through the emotional grinder for an extended length.
I’m confused about relationships….. and all these different realms/tribes… anyone know where I can read…

yes, her agency should check on her mental health as well, being drunk in the morning sounds like she's struggling…
I think that is probably easier said than done, especially before the fact. If word got out that a celebrity was in therapy or was seeing a doctor, it probably would impact the bottom line for agencies. I am not saying that it is right, because it is not. I am saying that trying to make a change for the well-being of celebrities and their fans comes at an expense, and one that many are not willing to pay.
I do think it will be interesting to see how she acts and what she says when she resurfaces. There seems to be a playbook about how to go about rehabbing your image and getting back in the good graces of fans. DUIs are seen as personal and alcoholism something that plagues a society. She can do her part and get better and take some time to try to make her environment a better place too. To deal with the bigger issues takes her, you, me, and everyone else to get involved and try to do better.
He Biao too. Maybe toss Her Ladyship in there for good measure too.A small part of me thinks it might be the person…
I always feel a bit bad for He Biao when he has to hear CFL gush about DYQ. (The brother must be annoyed at her sometimes too.) That plus most of the time she seems oblivious to He Biao's feelings and he lacks the confidence to do anything about it.

Ding Yun Qi seems to have all the good qualities of a ML and SML, so it is not surprising that just about everyone is attracted to him. And he is the key to the treasure, so those that do not like him are gravitating towards him as well. The drama still has not left in search of the Kunlun Mountains yet. Almost 2/3 through and we still need to sort a bunch of stuff out and deal with the treasure and have time for happy endings. i hope if she does have feelings for him, she will keep them as secret as possible for everyone's sake. With most of the story still left to tell, and knowing how close DYQ and WS are, I hope the drama does not really pursue this angle of CFL trying to get in between them. Seems a bit of a waste with so much ground left to cover.

A small part of me thinks it might be the person who dubs her voice. She actually sounds like she likes just about everyone when she is speaking. At least it does to me. I think it is a familiar voice in other dramas.

Misunderstandings are a common (and exhausting) tactic used many ways in dramas. This one has quite a bit of it, but at least it has been made interesting so far. Constant romantic misunderstandings are the worst...
I don't know why but I had the impression that Fengling wasn't happy to see Wu Shuang being together with Ding…
I noticed that Chu Feng Ling and Cui Yan Zhi's words, actions, and demeanor are a bit confusing when it comes to Ding Yun Qi and Wu Shuang. I think it is fair to say that Din Yun Qi's character is so heroic (in just about every aspect... am I right?), that just about everyone likes him in some shape or form. Even by those who do not like him. I am 100% sure that He Biao is in love with Chu Feng Ling, and fairly certain that she likes him as well. The drama does not come across as a romance drama, but clearly romance (and just generally how characters relate to each other) plays a necessary role in the overall story.
As much as I love this drama, how episode 34 went down is simply unrealistic. That CSS or Zisheng would hold that…
I believe that just about every drama I have watched is unrealistic in many scenes, and LLTG is no exception. I really do not know how Emperors and the royal family really went about daily activities, but I think this drama makes the Emperor more down to earth than what I am accustomed to in dramas. I actually like it. It seems that almost all of the drama and angst so far has been layered with humor and that makes it much easier for me to digest. That may change of course, but this drama makes watching it much easier than the synopsis or even individual scenes might indicate.
On a related note, the drama The Day of Becoming You is probably body-swap done best.
I have really been enjoying it so far. For me, this is one of those dramas where episodes fly by.
