On Hello My Shining Love Jun 22, 2022
I am on episode 12. Was it bring you kid to work day in the editing room and they just decided to let them practice editing? Several times the drama has made me feel like I missed important scenes, and when I rewind, I find that I did not miss them, the drama missed them.

you are right...because a lot of people misunderstood their family connection...(actually NO BLOOD RELATED) and…
It is about blood relation and the increased risk of genetic disease passed to offspring. I am not an expert about family law, but I think if a spouse wants to have some legal binding towards their spouse's kid(s), they need to adopt them. I have searched and really found nothing that would prevent the main leads from getting married if that is what they choose.

I do not think there is a law against that since they are not blood related. Most of the laws prevent blood relatives from getting married most likely due to the increased risk of genetic disease passed to offspring.
This drama has done their best to make it seem like the two only spent time together when they were young. Perhaps he lived with his father because she never really makes comments about taking care of him. She did not seem too remember too much of their time together.

Asian dramas in general, particularly Chinese dramas, can be easy to misunderstand relationships, especially if they are not spelled out. You can hear (big/little) brother, (big/little) sister, aunt, uncle, (sometimes) mom and dad, when the relationships themselves are not literal.

For this drama, he has called her sister when he does not really consider her in the role of a sister. Most of the dramas I have seen will usually see the ML be stubborn about not wanting to call the person they like sister. My Fated Boy is an example of one where it was really handled well.

I do not think it is a big deal because they have not acted like brother and sister, but I can see how it might be something that would bother others, especially if they are already not liking the drama.

Plenty of popular actors and actresses star in remakes. I also think that most people say it is either a remake…
I do think Fan Bing Bing starred in a drama that had at least one previous drama based off of the same source material. Zheng Shuang also starred in a remake of Queen In Hyun's Man. Regardless of whatever criteria you want to use, it is rare, but not unheard of.
I really do not keep up with Chinese entertainment news. I do hope that it has a brighter and fluffier spin on the drama versus SITR. SITR was dark and melo.

that's exactly what it is haha it's a brighter version!
Chinese dramas have their melo moments, but I really hope they inject some of the usual (24 episode) sweet and fluffy moments in to this drama.

You went from A-list cannot star in a remake to a remake of a Chinese or Korean drama starring one of their top actors. You also leave yourself the option to decide what is a top actor. You sort of narrow the goalposts, and then decide if it is a goal or not. That is not what commenters had in mind when you made your statement.

IQIYI purchased (and was allowed by the Chinese government) the right to air the original series Something In the Rain, and I can imagine that part of making the most out that opportunity was creating their remake as well.

This can't be a remake because an A-list actress can't star in a remake. If this film is plagarized like everyone…
Plenty of popular actors and actresses star in remakes. I also think that most people say it is either a remake of SITR or has similarities to SITR, not something as malicious as plagiarism.

They would need to stay inside or walk around with an umbrella all the time. I get they want to show the difference between the rich and the poor in those types of dramas, but I am afraid that it will be mistaken for a standard of beauty that is impossible.

They are siblings? How gross!!
They are not siblings. Siblings are individuals who share a common parent. Both leads have a different mother and father.

Love The Way You Are a new Chinese, is literally the B copy of this series. They stole all the scenes, I am unable…
I would rather wait until the end of the drama to say if it is a B copy. They did not steal all the scenes, but there is definitely a SITR vibe. Even in a worst case scenario, I do not think a country (China) ordered the plagiarism of the drama. Like a commenter below, SITR was recently allowed to be broadcast in China. A remake was probably in the works to go along with getting the right to broadcast SITR.

I have only seen the first episode, so I cannot say much about the story, but I do get the Something In the Rain vibes from it. I do hope that since it is a Chinese drama, it will be a brighter and fluffier version to pair nicely with the darker and more melodramatic SITR.

I think it was just a comment about articles that say netizens did not like HIY in this role, and the original poster was defending HIY and complaining about netizens. I did not thing it was anything worth deleting an account over. Nothing that seemed to go against the rules and conduct section of the site.

One of the annoying things in a Chinese drama (usually the historical or fantasy based ones) is that the leads can be fake white. Perhaps makeup and lighting plays a role in that, but I keep waiting for them to shimmer in the sunlight.

Any article that uses netizens as a source for their article is probably not worth reading. And even if it were worth reading, it is probably not going to be something you should take to heart. You know that, I know that, and even Seo Hyun Jin and Hwang In Yeop know that, but it probably still bothersome to some extent.
I definitely disagree that people have a right to express their own opinion, and the idea that people should freely be able to express their opinion is probably why we have to sift through so much trash to get to something we can consume, make use of, or even enjoy.
I have not started the drama yet, but I will when more episodes are released.

I thought the FL was the opposite of pathetic. I do think she was naive, and perhaps overly enthusiastic. She…
It has been about nine months since I commented, and I cannot really recall too much except for they were passionate with each other. Just from the summary and trailer/previews, I did not expect some groundbreaking commentary on the position of women in today's society. For romance dramas across the board, they usually put women in weaker positions. I am not sure how many dramas you have watched, but if the female character has problems, she is usually struggling to get by because of it. If the male lead has some problems, it usually means he is a CEO or professional who has succeeded in spite of it.

Guys do you think with this drama popularity there will be a switch in the way FLs are written ?
I do not think so. I suppose you can write a role for a strong female lead, but you need a strong actress to pull off the role too. The success of this drama (including the way the FL is written) is everything coming together. The writing, financing, directing, acting, etc. It is too easy for the 24 episode Chinese romantic comedy dramas to copy/paste, and the 40+ episode Chinese dramas to live in a male dominated world filled with imperial/royal/palace machinations.

Liu Yi Fei acts from head to toe. She elevates every scene she is in because she always seems to pay attention to the little details in how her character comes across. The main cast seems to bring the best out of each other too.
