As irony, the vilain is a better good man than many politicians of "democratic" countries.Of course, if his motivations…
The villain here is a terrible human being who has planned, threatened, enabled, and enacted harm towards others on a regular basis. And that is just what is made known as fact from a ten year span. It is hard to see any irony even if you use air quotes for the word democratic when comparing him to politicians today.
I think that one of the main points in this drama concerning the Chinese cuisine is tradition vs. innovation.…
Good point. I guess I expected the drama to revolve around a Korean restaurant rather than a Chinese one. Nonetheless, the food was showcased really well. Where I live there are plenty of Asian inspired restaurants, quite a few Chinese restaurants, some other Asian (like Thai and Vietnamese) restaurants, but no Korean restaurant. A lot of these food themed dramas make me want to get out there and try some of the dishes I have seen.
I hope the writers won't ruin this great dram with irrelevant romance as they did with Vincenzo.
I think the writers so far have sprinkled just enough relevant romance to make this drama even better. Vincenzo's romance seemed unexpected in the way it was developed, but almost anyone could have figured out that there was going to be something between the main leads.
I think this is one of the rare dramas where a rushed ending makes some sense. KHW was never going to grind out a win versus CTS even if he had 20 years. CTS power comes from those around him and that is what KHW has been trying to weaken. When he finally makes his move against CTS directly, it has to be quick which plays into a rushed ending. My gut feeling is that no one betrayed KHW because that is what is needed to take CTS down. If KHW were betrayed by such a close confidant, it would be game over. I do wish there were more episodes because when things happen, they happen fast. Quick buildup and resolution that sometimes makes it hard to like or dislike characters or subplots. I am also a bit torn about which I want to happen first, revenge on the person that killed him or revenge on the person that ordered his death. Either way, it has been a really good drama with only two episodes remaining.
Drunk driving is stupid, especially today if you live in a city like Seoul where you have other options for getting…
I think if public opinion and financial considerations did not necessitate a "break", then agencies and celebrities would not take one. I would love to separate their personal and business lives, especially if they are willing to accept the legal punishment, but for public figures, public opinion might even be more important than legal considerations. There is no such thing as a perfect job or life, being a celebrity included. I hope the support around her helps her weather the storm and become a better person because of it.
I agree about the sculptures. Probably had no one on crew who really knew about the art. The height thing got…
Rather than having the height difference result in cute or funny scenarios (there may have been a few), the height difference was often shown in a dominant, aggressive, or submissive way. I just could never shake that feeling for most of the drama.
The irony is that a lot of Korean dramas will have a scene (or scenes) where characters drink in excess or outright drunk, but they rarely drive drunk.
I am glad that no one seemed to have been injured. Thankfully. I do think she will have to bear the consequences and punishment, but I hope it is fair. While I am all for people reflecting on their actions, I hope that her actions will reflect that she actually did.
I do think that if her agency wants to (try to) prevent such incidents from happening again, they need to be more proactive in getting the message that drinking responsibly is important. That needs to come across in dramas that they participate in, and the words and actions of their stars' lives.
Is this drama worth watching? Why it is low rated?
It is worth watching. I think Chinese dramas in general are not rated as highly as Korean dramas in general. There is also not a lot physical intimacy for a romantic comedy. I think if you like the 24 episode Chinese romantic comedies, then you will probably like this one.
Yes, but nothing close to romantic comedy standards. As of episode 12, a tag of slight romance might be giving…
I have been accused of using too many words, so I appreciate how you just cut through all the talk and get your point across. The only thing I am not sure of is will not having a lot of romance be a barrier to prevent you from starting the drama. I actually prefer a heavy hand when it comes to adding romance in a drama series, but I actually think the light touch works well with Again My Life. Plus, you can always watch another drama with more romance while watching this one. Unless you can only watch one drama series at a time. Then I would say do not be shackled by habit. Or I would just think that and not tell you because it might sound presumptuous.
A really good drama with great chemistry and little angst and drag. The story was a bit mild, but sometimes I want spicy and sometimes I want mild. I started it not expecting to like it as much as I did. I am still struggling to finish some of the bigger dramas with famous casts and more publicity. I would not mind a few more episodes of Love in a Loop.

Great question. Tossing out the romance that might exist between supporting or guest characters, I assume most would mean romance involving at least one main character. I have finished episode 12 and I would call it a nebulous romantic cloud that has formed with Kim Hee Woo, Kim Hee Ah, Kim Gyu Ri, and Kim Han Mi. The drama so far has made Kim Han Mi's interest one-sided, Kim Gyu Ri's interest more admiration, and Kim Hee Ah's interest as mutual and more likely to lead to something more should the writers decide to up the volume on it. So far, any romance-based thoughts have taken a back seat (like transit bus last row and seat) to everything else going on. If you watch it expecting or hoping for romance, you might be disappointed. If you watch it and think, how can all those young, single, beautiful people not be interested in each other, enough is done to put that thought to rest.
Of course, the presence is so minimal that others may choose not to see it, or acknowledge its existence, but most assuredly, it is there. How it will all unfold, I have no clue. Romantic based dramas usually guarantee some sort of developed romantic relationships, but Again My Life is not such a drama.
I think burning someone would give anyone trauma. Best friend, friend, or enemy. Small or large burns. Even if…
The world is filled with people who do terrible things, so I am glad that you have not burned anyone. I do question why make such a remark in the first place on such a serious matter. Looking at other comments (here) in the light that others might be willing to be sarcastic in the face of others suffering hardship makes me think you might not be the only one. I thought commenters were sharing their heart in hopes that it may serve as a ray of hope for others that redemption and forgiveness never has an expiration date. Instead it is something darker, but I believe that light overcomes darkness in the end.
When a well-written character like Xu Jie is played by a talented (and beautiful) actress like Jiang Shu Ying, I get drawn in. I like the mature vibe of the drama, but it is also not afraid to have some fun too. Plus it has Zhao Yi Huan. Episodes seem to fly by.
