Yeah true, I mean in period dramas (aka times without antibiotics), I get why people are so careful, but in modern…
This is the second time I can remember, that I get put on the spot. Me: "I can give you a lot of them." You: "Name one." Me: Crickets chirping...
Maybe the Chinese romantic fantasy dramas do not follow that exact scenario, but some (which I am drawing a blank right now) use the supposed death or severe injury to one of the leads that causes the other one to confess. Then, they take back what they said when they realize they admitted their feelings first. I will be on the lookout for one, and should I recall this conversation, I will try to post it.
On the off chance that I have no clue what I am talking about, then sorry. It happens more often that I care to admit. Even so, it sounds like something that should be a trope.
Don't mention TOOL, the fan will attack you continuously!!! 😂😂🤷♀️🤷♀️
I watched up to episode 23 of The Oath of Love and having a hard time finishing it. It is okay, and I probably will finish it sometime, but I did not see anything special about it. I actually have the same concerns about the upcoming drama She and Her Perfect Husband with Yang Mi and Xu Kai. A lot of fans, hype, and expectations that seem hard to match in reality.
The drama was excellent overall. It would probably have been the best drama I have seen in 2022 if not for Shining For One Thing. Compared with some of the other dramas that have aired so far (with much more fanfare), the two I mentioned were both surprises to me.
ok... i know people gonna kill me and i know how and where they gonna kill me but let me hide all this facts so…
Why does she think that someone who has been secretly in love with her for ten years and only recently got together will act rational? If it came to someone having to die, she seems like she would be the more cool and level-headed one. All of this is assuming that those out to protect their secret will stop after she dies. It is a bit silly, but does ratchet up the tension going into the last episode.
Somehow I feel Qian Wei does not deserve Lu Xun at all. If it were in my hands i would like Lu Xun and Mo Xin…
Taking a second look at your statement, I seem to have misread your intention. You mentioned Qian Wei in the first sentence, and I read the second sentence as if you were Qian Wei, you would like Lu Xun first, and then Mo Zi Xin would be the one you would choose in the end. (Hence, my mention of censorship.) You probably meant if you had control of the story, you would like Lu Xun and Mo Zi Xin to end up together.
I think if someone was given a general idea of their (QW and LX) story while omitting their names, I think one might say that QW never really loved Li Chong Wen, and LX is a pretty creepy guy. The writers seemed to sprinkle romance magic dust over those thoughts and somehow it turned into LCW was undeserving anyways, LX had a love that transcended time, and QW was worth the wait.
Everyone is like this is a cliffhanger ending or sad ending. Can't you fcking wait!?? There are still 2 episodes…
I do not think saying stuff that is not true, using profanity, and being insulting is the best way to encourage others to start or finish this drama. Plus, it is not very nice.
Some did not like how LX confessed to QW but I find it to be really perfect.
I thought it was very fitting. He always tried to rationalize (justify) his thought process, but truthfully, he was just scared. It always got the best of him. Finally, seeing Li Chong Wen, he decided to be scared of not being with her rather than scared of what might happen if he tried to be with her.
I just chalk this up to drama world logic because I don't know a single Chinese person who goes to the hospital…
Probably to show the caring side of a character in one day/night, or to have the sick patient grab on to the arm of the caregiver and whisper "don't go", revealing some inner torment which draws them in.
Y'all don't come for me too hard, but I stopped liking this drama after eight episodes. I tried to push through,…
I respect your decision to post your feelings about a drama that has seen mostly positive comments in this section. I am glad you attempted to push through even after you started to lose interest. Plus, you separated the fact that you did not like it from others liking it. Some just drop and torch it, which makes me wonder what they would do in a relationship if they lost interest. Not every drama is going to keep everyone interested. There are plenty of other dramas out there to find and enjoy. This drama should also be available to watch if you should change your mind.
And when they wake up in the morning they talk face to face without washing their mouths.
I like that too. It is annoying when the FL (usually) wants to push the ML away and needs to go wash her face, brush her teeth, get dressed, put on makeup and basically get ready to go out before she can face the ML regardless of how intimate they were.
It seems worse in CDrama's than in Korean. China has ....issues, when it comes to what women especially, are allowed…
I think the term dumb female lead gets used more often than it should. It has been my experience that questionable decisions abound with both leads in romance based dramas.
I think I have the most trouble accepting characters that conveniently act out of character, outside the scope of their overall development just for drama's sake.
A lot of the dramas you mentioned are a bit lengthy and some (palace dramas) seem to have content that I am not a big fan of. Not to say whether I would enjoy them or not, or if they are good or not, but it makes it difficult for me to want to start them. I did start The Rebel Princess, and it was pretty good, but is starting to get a bit overwhelming with the tropes. I need to cleanse my viewing palette before continuing it. lol As for characters being innocent versus experienced, I prefer a level playing field. Not necessarily the same experience, but close enough that the tropes used are just temporary and not some insurmountable wall.
Overall, I like beautiful people, in beautiful stories, doing beautiful things, with a beautiful ending.
