Yes I actually agree with you!! She was happy with him but clearly it was not enough for her and we could see it. And honestly when I first watched the show I felt really annoyed and angry whenever San was happy after they got together, because it was clear as day she could not feel the same bliss. She lost everything just to gain him but he, who already had everything, feels on top of the world now that he has her. But now that I’ve completed the show and watched certain scenes several times, I just think they are both two really sad people who loved each other in the wrong time

She was happy when she was with him. When they got together you will notice she was happy when they were together. However she was very sad and lonely in the times she spent waiting for him and realising that he can never truly belong to her. But yes, she did lose her spunk and liveliness towards the end.
