isnt the male lead an already famous idol? i guess he already have a successful career... i liked the FL in memorist…
Ah I just meant that although she has had a very long career, her time acting as a female lead is comparatively shorter. She has quite a few works that were popular definitely

So there is comedy? I’m hesitant to watch a full-on historical melodrama, just sounds too heavy for my mood…
It’s been quite funny actually. The fl is quite the funny character. The ml does a lot of dumb funny stuff too sometimes. Quite a few side characters are comic relief. At least ep 2-6 felt more like a romcom than a full blown historical melodrama, but I think it’s gonna get heavier from the next few eps

Also not to mention he has only one expression in the whole drama, his “I admire u FL face”, which i guess is fitting since his only purpose in the show is to be the FL’s love interest.

My thoughts exactly. I binged it until 12th ep the next eps weren't for me. I tried to watch 15th ep several times…
I don’t think it’s cos you hate sweet and romantic stuff, this drama just didn’t execute it well. Their romance just isn’t that believable. I don’t understand why they like each other so much to risk everything (in this case THEIR LIVES). Their romance feels so forced from day one with all the slow mo, love songs and “romantic moments” to signal that they are attracted to each other. This drama would have been sufficient if it was just a 10 ep drama about a girl pretending to be a man and eventually being king. Queen Seondeok did the same thing for 30+ eps and there was no boring moment

For me it’s not getting better and I’m feeling more bored and annoyed with each ep. I think if you’ve been wanting to drop it won’t get better for you. there are still people who are enjoying the new eps though

Things are just happening now because the writer wants them to. Pulling politics out of their ass ?? I don’t care for half the politics stuff since we didn’t actually see them happen… what is the writer doing. The romance isn’t any better written tbh

The writing has been so lazy in recent episodes, it makes me wonder if it’s written by the same writer who wrote the gripping first two eps. Things are just happening because the writer wants them to at this point
