I like this better and it makes sense cos in both 2023 timelines, I believe the psycho was staking out at sol’s house. Seonjae only died after visiting sol’s house in both timelines.
Timeline 1: seonjae follows hyunjoo and sol home after meeting her on the bridge. Seonjae dies the same night.
Timeline 2: seonjae sends sol home (where they confessed and kissed). Seonjae is attacked that night

Reading some theories for ep 13 and the new 2023 GENUINELY SCARES ME LMAOOO. I hope they don’t fumble this and add random shit just for drama. I trust the show runners but if these thoughts have crossed the minds of some watchers… then it pays for me to be a bit cautious. Tbh I JUST HOPE THEY DONT PUT IN THE AMNESIA PLOT.
